Hi brendan,
I have a usb dvb-t connected to my solo2 and it sees it as just an extra tuner (tuner-c)
It can be configured to use it as dvb-t or dvb-c.
I use it to pick up saorview and it does work side by side with the sat tuners, epg etc.
Dunno if the dvb-c side of things are any different (shouldn't think so but then again, not able to test as i don't have access to cable)
I am running bh 2.0.9 though as the newer kernel bh images will not recognise it and tried all drivers from addons panel to no avail , although it is a cheap one from flea bay.
Never had a problem with it to be honest.

Some routers are capable of updating dns also, may be worth having a look at your one if you can't get ubuntu to update your dns. ( you'll be tinkering with it anyway to open up ports to share outside your network)

You add a usb tuner to your solo, something like the one the site sponsor sells:

This will enable you to receive saorview channels alongside satellite channels on your receiver.
You then could create a ROI bouquet (channel list) for saorview using dreamset/ dreambox edit and send it to your receiver.
This bouquet will show up alongside your existing ones.
Your epg should then update once you select a saorview channel.

Which receiver do you have and can you receive saorview/saorsat?
You could look into a usb terrestrial tuner (saorview) or a ka type lnb pointed at saorsat (eutalsat 9deg east although this will only give rte / no tv3 or 3e)

Not much if any on 26 east anymore.
You'll need to go to Nilesat 7° W or Es'hailSat 25.5° E (next to impossible to get in ire/uk) to get the full hd package , if you intend to go the satellite route.

I have tried both and would prefer the lx over the amiko to be honest.
The remote seems to be a stock remote though (same as the maxdigital xp 1000, I would prefer the amiko remote).
It is a bit busy for my liking with the buttons being too close together.
I found hyperion to be a very stable image for it. (although i haven't tried many)

Is your stb on (on an encrypted channel) when trying to stream another encrypted one?
I'd imagine it should work, especially if a fta channel can be streamed.
There is a known problem with cccam decrypting two channels at the same time using new image releases.
The fix is to upgrade cccam to at least 2.3.0 or use oscam. Not too sure about mgcamd though.
You could also put your receiver into standby before trying to stream an encrypted one to see if it works. (will determine that it may be emu related)
This should still stream while receiver is in standby. (does on blackhole 2.0.9.1)

You could try a rescan or update your satellite.xml file.

Your card is paired to hd box and will only work if you can re-pair it to a standard defination model but no hd channels (except for a small few) will be available for sharing.

I presumed you knew where your configs were and was wondering where your image backup was stored.

They are updated patched firmware with fixes applied and may have a few newer features.
Usually released a week or two after original firmware.

Usually a week or two after new original firmware has been released.

I do not have this receiver nor have i had any experience with it but i did find some software / firmware for you to try.
I'm afraid i have no idea how it is loaded/flashed though nor am i able to test this software.
Use at your own risk.
