    if you want to add even more function to this, then download the autotimer plugin - works a treat with CoolTVguide - long green button press and you can set it to automate the recordings to get a kind of series link function.

    I don't think anyone was accusing you of being a payserver or faker romman, but having not personally used 2.0.11 before, I am wondering what benefits you have using 2.0.11 over 2.1.3? We all know the benefits of running 2.1.3 over 2.2.1, for example, connecting with Oscam as a card reader and the 256 trick to show your own local as a local, but what do you get out of 2.0.11 over 2.1.3?

    I haven't really experienced any stability issues with 2.1.3, so I haven't had the need to use an earlier version, and I would lose a few peers if I went to 2.0.11..

    Anyway I would recommend 2.1.3 if you have to use Oscam as a cardreader, and 2.2.1 if you don't, or even 2.3.0 if you don't believe the backdoor rumours! 2.2.1 and above have added benefits such as sid reject, and some compatibility improvements.

    Having tried Debian and Ubuntu, if you are looking at a dedicated server i.e. a PC with nothing else to do apart from be a server, then I would suggest Debian without a GUI. It has no bloat and I had this running stable with the only interruption being power cuts. It takes minutes to get set up, and you can just hide it away and use FTP and Telnet to access it and change anything. It is good to try everything though because no matter what you decide to stick with, you can't beat experience!

    If I were you I would contact Satsklep first thing tomorrow - you are trying everything that should work and it isn't working, so that emm you are looking for might not be out there.

    Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting in the intro section first. I wrote some info about this in the VIP section - basically, the best way to solve this is to contact your peers and get them to sort it out their end.

    Premier Sports and boxnation have this issue

    From what I have read you should be able to get this card updated with the methods you have tried already. If you are uncomfortable using the method master G has suggested (but should be easy enough with the guides and configs), then you can try using Oscam alone, with dvbapi. This worked for me to activate a sly card and mtv card that had no active entitlements.

    in oscam.user

    Code
    [account]
    user = dvbapi_dreambox
    pwd =
    group = 1
    monlevel = 0
    au = 1

    in oscam.conf

    Code
    [dvbapi]
    enabled = 1
    au = 1
    boxtype = dreambox
    user = dvbapi_dreambox

    in oscam.server

    important!! - in your oscam.dvbapi file - add the following;

    Code
    P: 0100:000068 1

    The above line is very important, and the '1' at the end keeps oscam sending requests to the card, without it, it will give up after a few attempts. The 1 in AU = 1 sends all requests to all cards so for this - I find it works, so best leave it like this until your card updates.

    Just back up your old configs first - do above and once updated revert to your previous configs. Not sure what the best channel is to leave it on, but read somewhere that TVP 1 works.

    you have done this a couple of times mouk - someone is kind enough in responding to you, offering you help and you then reply again with a request for help - I understand there might be a bit of a language barrier but maybe acknowledge the help being offered, respond, and have a conversation....

    quick browse of the net brings me to this;

    Code
    http://askubuntu.com/questions/24006/how-do-i-reset-a-lost-administrativeroot-password

    I have tried this with various images and receivers - on the GigaBlue with OpenMips it connected to the box but wouldn't stream. On the Vu+ Duo it didn't connect at all with the ViX image, but I have just gone to Open VTI and it is working as it should.:haha: It may not be to do with the images, rather the version of webinterface you have installed on your receiver, so if you are following all the guides on how to connect - and it is pretty easy, and it doesn't work, then the tweaking should probably be done receiver end rather than in the app.

    Edit:

    not working perfectly because if I zap channels it zaps the channel on tuner A regardless whether it is in use, so changes the channel for everyone else who is watching too! - still a very promising tool though!

    Not a clue about your image but on my receivers I have to put the ipk in /var/volatile/tmp - straight to /tmp isnt working (not sure if this is just a quirk of winSCP mind you as there is a symlink present!) - then somewhere in the setup menus there should be a settings panel so you can install a local extention. So long as you make sure it has copied in the right folder then you can do an install from telnet command as mentioned before - although I usually use the GUI out of laziness!

    The later it the EPG appears & channel is again selectable

    I don't understand this part of your statement

    Make sure you have got the most up to date channel settings. The providers/broadcasters change things around quite often so you have to keep on top of this.

    Be careful waran there is a fine line between what you are doing and being seen as running a payserver.

    Maybe you could test it - ask all your friends and family to all watch a paid channel at the same time and see how your card copes with it. The amount you can have using your card at the same time depends on the network and the card, as cards differ re frequency and the time between ECM requests. If the time between ECM requests is short, then won't be able to handle as many requests than if the time is longer.

    ok but i still dont see the web display when i enter my servers ip followed by the port 192.168.1.7:8888 would this affect it.

    also in that line above do i have to substitute the user1 and pass1 for my servers username and pw?

    TIA

    if you are typing the full address (including http://192.... etc:8888) - and the ip address is within the same network, and oscam is actually running, then you should be able to access it - not having the nline in CCcam.cfg shouldn't affect your access to webif.

    and yes substitute user1 pass1 for your server's user and pass

    Hi mate.

    it is many peers there can be in share in a dreambox. I have 10 friends I share my card with and I get no share from them.
    I would like to add more friends and I would like to know what restrictions I have to make for the machine can run without much load / freezing.
    it's a better idea with a PC card reader ??????

    You are planning on sharing with lots of people while not getting a share from them? Why is this? Surely you must be getting something in return, and you plan to share with more friends? What do you get out of it?

    All about research really - price, quality and features. Personally I find the original Dreamboxes overpriced, but the Vu+ range would always be up there. At the bottom end there are plenty of E2 receivers that are now competing with the non E2 ones, such as the Gigablue, DM800 HD (Dreambox clone) and now even NewDVB DVB800 HD (which is like a clone with its own brand name). I would say always go for an E2 receiver. No point getting an SD box because the HD receivers are not much more now. I have tried non E2 HD receievers, and believe me when I say that if you have had a taste of Enigma2 previously, you will very likely not like what you see if it is anything else.
