Champions, installed image yesterday and tried updating via UI but box is stuck rebooting every time after update. Can't stop it. Any ideas?

I reflashed box again and tried updating via the onlie update but the box still boots up and restarts constantly after online update?

Hi is there any chance you could zip/rar the files and upload somewhere else (ul.to ?) as rapidshare is extremely sloooooow for non premium users 6 hr + download !

Straightforward really, i would like to control my STB over IP via a 3rd party remote.
My box has an enigma2 image running and i assume that all enigma2 STB's have the same command set??
I will build a driver for my control system so i can control it via a 3rd party remote control ie up, down , ch+ , ch- etc.
From what i can gather, i think enigma2 use HTTP commands?

tested ready to try another.hd judder present here and there.thinking im wasting my time with this box amiko alien 8900.It doesn't matter which software you try ,spark same problem.so I can say hd judder is not fixed.in fact maybe a good door stop lol.
Spark does not have Judder, if you have their must be a problem!
I'm running the latest Spark version on Alien 2 and its a great picture.

I like spark but as you say, the epg is poor.
I also like enigma for its functionality but the stability of spark evens it out for me.
Not got to the bottom the issue, i need to change connection time to see if this resolves it.

I introduced myself elsewhere. First thanks to all for this info. It's terrific. But when you are at my level (way down here) simple questions emerge which are way below the radar of most of this. I am a total newbie with these STBs although definitely not a newbie with computers and networks (in fact a real oldtimer there-;).
So I am looking at an installation package with a great dish and an amiko alien 2. The stb is 'locked' to the installers service. That's OK given the price, but I wonder about modifying this stb down the road. I assume by 'locked' they mean that I don't get the admin login etc to modify. I am assuming that there is no hardware lock of any kind (jumper settings or something). So down the road, if I want, I can always just flash a whole new OS on the stb and wipe existing content clean, get my own new logins etc., and load up whatever platform I want.
Am I correct in this thinking? or is there something else here I've overlooked.

Not sure if this is what you asking:
I assume you know that this box is Dual Boot???
If so, the native image for this box is Spark which is an Amikos native OS.
The other Boot option is to load an Enigma2 image, this comes in many flavours which you can do what you want with if you like!!!!

I found a thread with advice on this issue and it advises to delete the oscam.dvbapi file.
I did this and it work but it failed twice since then but its working ok now!

Is their an issue with the softcam manager in the latest HDMU image?
I'm entering my line via the oscam 8523 web interface but the manager is never active but the oscam web interface shows its connected?
I can't view non fta channels ever tho the oscam webinterface shows connected?
Or i'm i just doing it wrong!!!!!

Get a test line to test if its your provider!
I'm using an Alien2 with the latest Spark v1.2.68 and having picture freeze every time i exit the EPG.
It happens every time i exit the EPG and sometimes when EPG is opened.
Channel up/down is ok and this rectifies the issue when picture is frozen.
I have been told that Spark tries to reconnect to the provider after a EPG exit and the issue could lie with the provider!
Also tried disconnecting my HDD as this can cause this but does not resolve it!
Anyone got any ideas before re-flash the image!

Sorry one more issue!!
Im getting a lot of glitching/freezing and a grey screen with this image, i have had it on other images butit seems to be worse!
If i swap to spark it works fine with the same provider.
Is this the image or the oscam plugin version?

Regarding System Update, the OpenAR-P image hasn't been updated since (mind you - doesn't really need updating based on yours and my experiences)
I really don't know why the scan takes so long but hey, only needed once I guess or else, run before going to bed !!!
Attached is a photo of the update tab, every time it says 561 updates availiable!!
I assume no updates are availaible!!!

I have been using your image for a week now and it is the best image i have used on my Alien 2 up to now, well done :thumbsup:
Nice Gui, and very responsive compared to other images i have used.
I have noticed a few issue:
System update never seems to update just keep requesting what seems to be the same update!
Video judder but not as bad as some other images, i have tried other video resolution but still the same, 1080i/p 50/60. Not tried 720 yet but will let you know~1
Automatic Service Scan takes over an hour, this is a clean install! Is this correct?
