You just use the numbered buttons on your remote bud to input long/lat.

Hello buddy, was your solo2 being sent with a image already installed?? there should have at least been the original vu image on it.
One thing to note that when your are flashing a image onto the solo2 via the front usb socket you need to press the power button on the front of it when prompted for the re-flash process to start.

Another option you have with ViX to install a ipk file is to place the ipk on a fat32 formatted usb stick and insert it into your box, take it from there...

Is it only a usb stick you have mounted buddy?? Are you using a external hdd as well? if you are would be worthwhile setting up a swap file, sounds like your flash memory is getting to the limit at times.
Where do you store your epg data? & picons etc? on the usb stick??

You can change the image on your solo2 as much as you want, i have never seen the 2.1 original image you have mentioned, the last original image released by VU was version 7.0. I have attached a copy of it here for you.

No, no idiot's guide bud. With the solo you are going to be limited to the amount of memory you have to play with. All I can suggest is that you try a plugin, if it serves no purpose to you or your box, remove it.

I go to Menu/setup/service searching/auto scan/clear before scan (no)/ok to scan.
