You could use crossepg bud, very good and already installed in the vix image.

Have a look here for how to configure it etc; Crossepg

I have attached the version of Ts panel that should work with Vix. Give it a go!

FTP it to the tmp folder, then press the blue button, then selct vix, then select "install local extension" that should work.

Remember to restart the box after installation.

    Hello buddy,

When you plug a device into the usb extender (ie a usb stck or external hdd) is your Ultimo able to see that device?

It could be the case that the usb extender will not show up in mount manager but the device plugged into it will.

    Hello buddy,

The best place for picons is on a usb drive if you have one mounted,if you install onto the hdd you will hear it constantly spinning especially if you are channel hopping lol

You can place them onto the internal flash of your box if you have enough memory space,to intall to this location ftp into your box and place the "picon" folder in usr/share/enigma2

if you can mount a usb drive then copy the "picon" folder into media/usb

Discussion of article Tuner configuration setup for a Motorised dish using stored positions:

Hello bud, it can literally can be down to the make of the pen drive,Vu range can be choosey reagrds usb sticks unfortunately. What brand are the two 16gb drives you are trying?

Some other members might be able to confirm whether or not they have the same type working in their solo.

I use sandisk myself, never had any probs.

It's only you who can decide which is the better,it's all down to personal choice really. But if you want a good stable image that's is easy to navigate and has a good epg etc then start with ViX.

But don't be afraid to experiment with different images as you gain more experience, all part of the fun!

If you can access the box via FTP then you should be able to see if there is a settings backup in the HDD folder,it could be that the image has updated itself with the allow unstable updates active.

If you look at the top navbar on the forum main page you will see a link for "openvix" you will get the latest image version form there.

Flash that on and then install your settings file from the vix menu.

    Hello buddy,

If it's not a option to run a Ethernet cable from you router/hub to where the second box will be you will have to consider using a wireless adaptor or homeplugs. Vu have a wireless adaptor that can be bought in various places or there are plenty of alternatives, tenda is pretty good for the money also netgear have a pretty good adaptor although can be pricey.

Have a look at our new sponsors website: World Of Satellite

    They have everything you need!

This is a quick tutorial to show the tuner configuration settings for Tuner A & B using a motorised & fixed dish setup.

Tuner A is connected to the motorised dish, and is being used in "Advanced" setting. The first screenshot shows page 1 of the settings and screenshot 2 shows page 2 where you will need to input you Long & Latitude settings for where you are. (You can use Dishpointer or Google maps to get this info)

USALS has been selected for the dish motor to move to each sat position that you would like use, I have 28,23,19,16,13 & 4.8 east / 0.8,5 & 30 West mapped onto my motor at the minute, a up to date channel list is advised.

As you can see in the screenshot 28 east is showing, to change this to another sat you would highlight this setting and press the left/right arrow button on the remote until you find the sat you want, i.e 23.5 or 16 e

Then press ok each time you select another sat.

Tuner B is setup from a fixed dish pointing at 28 E.

For this you select "Simple" setting.

Then I have selected "Single" input. The satellite setting is used in the same way as tuner A,highlight that setting and then use the left/right arrows on the remote to find the sat that you want to use. This screenshot shows it setup for 28E.

And that's it basically, this is a good setup for being able to record one channel from a fixed sat while still being able to move the motorised dish about.

    Hello bud,

I have moved your post to this section for now, teamviewer help is usually the last resort if the problem can not be solved in the forum through posts.

Have a good read through this section Forum Gateway - Powered by DnP Firewall you should find what your looking for, one thing you will need to get is your Longtitude & latitude settings, you can use dishpointer or google maps to get these.

Let us know how you get on, beer10

New section added today buddy for crossepg, look here; EPG Support

I have attached a older version of cooltvguide here for you, have a go with this first, should teach you the basics of how to setup/configure it.

Let us know how you get on.

    Hello buddy,

You don't join a server, you share with peers that you make friends with etc.

You need to get youself a local (card) then you would share that with another peer that has a card that you would like.

The only servers I have heard of people joining are payservers which are completely unwelcome here and will be banned also.
