    Hi wabbitsquash,

    The best setup to be able to pick up different sats is a motorised system,which your vu solo is more than capable of working with.To be able to get a good selection the best option is to go for a dish of at least 1m,bigger if you can and if your budget allows.

    At the minute on my own setup i can receive 28/26/23.5/19/16/13/4.8 E & 1/5/30 W this is using a motor with a 1.1m dish.

    Our forum sponser has some really good deals for a motorised setup at the min,take a look here:Sat-Shop.co.uk - Sat-Shop.co.uk Online Satellite and Electronics Store from Lavatronics

    Ideally you want to position your setup on a south facing wall,which then gives you hopefully a lot of options for east & west sats.

    Just to give you a idea of what some of the different sats will provide you with are 28e sly sports uk,23.5e sly sports Italy,19e sly sports Germany,16e Tring sports,13e Al jazeera sports, 1w Barclays premier league.

    Unfortunately these are not FTA,i think you will find it very difficult to find games being shown that do not require a sub to watch.But maybe you should do a bit of reading here;Forum Gateway - Powered by DnP Firewall to see what option are open to you regarding how to be able to view these channels.

    Hope this helps.

    Why not decide for yourself buddy,

    Both images are available on the forum here, what you like another may not and vice versa.Try each of them out for a few days each.

    Also give you good practice at changeing images. Good Luck!

    Hi caines1989,

    Could you help us first and make a Introduction post please,this is as per the forum rules.

    The section that you have posted this request for help is where you should have made that intro post.i will move your request for help to the appropriate section,but please make your intro post the next one you do. Thank-you

    Hi toothfairy,

    This is quite common problem with the Vix image on the Vu boxes,i dont have the vix image installed at the min so trying to do this from memory.

    In the main menu under settings there should be a option for "OSD" in there i think is a sub menu to be able to adjust screen width & height,if the "OSD" is the wrong menu choice try under customise, there is definately a menu to be able to make adjustments to the screen to make it fit.

    Hopefully another member will be along shortly to tell you exactly the location of the settings you require.

    Please respect Andy ray's wishes please,

    It is not fair to be sending him PM's asking for one on one help unless he has offered to do this first.

    As Andy ray quite rightly states posting for help on the open forum benefits all members!

    Your co-operation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

    You have a good size dish there to experiment with,running a cable from it to your receiver will open up more options for you,this hobby is all about tweaking,experimenting,testing & breaking things!!! lol

    Our forum sponser Sat-Shop.co.uk - Sat-Shop.co.uk Online Satellite and Electronics Store from Lavatronics will be able to supply you with any equipment you need,ie dish motor,lnb,cable etc etc click on the link and have a look.

    Regards what is FTA on 13e, probably lots of news channels!!! lol

    Sharing is a option which is open to you as you are already doing it with family members,at the moment you are getting nothing back from them in return,so your local (sub card) is supplying four people with the packages on it. This is not a problem as long as you are happy with that setup, a lot of members on here do that.

    But the benefits of sharing with other peers is that you can access other channels which you may want to watch.You for example could have a full Sly HD card,and someone else might have JSC sports (13e),so with sharing you would be able to access JSC sports and your peer would be able to access Sly uk.

    There are many locals available,with sharing you only have to pay for one,although some peers like to run 2 or 3 locals.

    The drawbacks are that you need to be careful and pick your peers carefully,sharing is really about trusting who you share with,some peers could have other motives and could possibly be a payserver who would take great pleasure in sharing your card and then selling access to it to other people. Payservers or supports are not tolerated on this forum whatsoever.

    Your server will not suffer any damage if sharing,the only problems you might come accross is it not running stable if you allow too many peers to connect to you.

    One thing to consider is to go VIP on the forum,by doing this you will have a lot more options open to you.

    p.s You will need to have a motorised setup or a multi LNB setup to access other sats if you want to access locals not on 28.2e (Sly Uk)

    The first thing i would try is to flash the original Vu duo image on,if this is unsucessful then it will need to be flashed with a null modem cable.

    Here is the link to the file you require: Vu+ Update

    You will need to be sure that the bootloader is the latest version before you flash this image on:http://linuxsat-support.com/vu…69-duo-cfe-rev-3-0-a.html

    Follow that link and the tut on it.

    This should sort the problem for you,flashing on the original image will be good for the box,will give it a good clear out.

    Hope this helps.

    Is it possible to make the ip addy for your pc server static in your router settings??

    This is a easier way to go about it bud if your router/hub has this option.

    Second issue, if using two ominkeys, how do you specify which card will be in which?

    You specify it in the oscam.server, for two cards you would have two seperate readers, i.e

    [reader]
    label = MTV
    Protocol = pcsc
    #detect = CD
    device = 0
    Group = 1
    EMMCache = 1,3,2
    CAID = 0b00
    ident = 0b00:000000
    #ecmwhitelist =

    [reader]
    label = MTV2
    Protocol = pcsc
    #detect = CD
    device = 1
    Group = 2
    EMMCache = 1,3,2
    CAID = 0b00
    ident = 0b00:000000
    #ecmwhitelist =
