Did you create a swap file? this will help when you start to install plugins etc.... and try our Linuxsat Support addons panel as opposed to TS panel next time after a reflash...

To be able to cardshare bud you are going to need a subscription to a legit provider (Sky UK for example)..... this is so you have something to share with other members who in return will share their local with you....

So to be able to do this make sure you buy a box which is open source as opposed to closed source, open source you can install plugins etc and yes you will if you take the time to teach yourself following tutorials and guides on here be able to update your own receiver.

If your thinking about going down the payserver or IPTV pay portal route to try and get everything for next to nothing then i'm afraid you have picked the wrong forum bud....

Have a look here: http://www.world-of-satellite.…gital-Satellite-Receivers it's a link to our forum sponsors webpage for Sat receivers.

Just bought a 2 day test line from cccamsky. Contacted them now and they say I'm not connected. Just wondered if I'm doing something wrong at my end.? Cheers

The first thing you did wrong was not reading the forum rules.........

We don't offer support to members who use payservers bud..... and this is a really good reason why. You have paid someone you don't know for lines that are not working.

Please for your own sake have a look at the concept of cardsharing....

If your buying from vuplus.co.uk then it will be a original bud.....

But why not try our forum sponsors price match...... you can find it here: https://www.world-of-satellite…information/price_compare

Buy one from the forums sponsor, I've had loads from them and there customer service is 100% I'd prefer to pay a tenner more and have peace of mind than pay a tenner less and have loads of probs
    By the way it's
    World of satellite
    Very fast recorded delivery aswell

Yep that's exactly what to do bud... buy a original box with warranty. If it's on fleabay and cheap then you have to ask yourself why......

A reflash will not do any harm at all bud, you were using a old version of Vix...

Latest version is here: OpenViX There is also tutorials & guides here for reflashing....

Remember to backup any cam configs etc before reflashing.

Thanks for the reply and very interesting info.
But that Isn't really what I had in mind.

Ok, say I want to pick up Arabsat 30.5 E, on your list it says 150 cm dish, don't have that but do have 15 mini sky dishes all over the roof of my garage all pointed to that satellite. Now what little black box of wizardry do I join all those dishes together with to get that signal? :)

it would never work bud.... 15 small dishes equals 15 LNB's (each dish will have one) and 15 small sky dishes is way bigger than a one piece 150cm dish.....

The sat signal has to bounce of one part of the dish and then be picked up by the lnb to send that signal down the feed connected to it to the receiver.....

It really depends which sat it is your trying to pickup........
