I done it through newcs using maz3, then added a cccam.cfg to where you have it and then i had to go into cam setup and add my cline there by pressing the blue button, wish i had wrote the steps down before i sold my box :9

sorry mate i may have confused you, in ubuntu you use sudo which is the same as root..sudo username /var/etc
-
afaik chown is change owner meaning they have to be made as root you can then chmod 755 after, you can do this with winscp if you dont want to do it the command line way

you can install other images again you can find these through MAZ3 they are a bit jazzier than the standard ones and perform well.
-
The way i done it on mine was install newcs through maz3, reboot the box and then ftp into the box look in EMU/PLUGINS/OPENXCAS there you can add your cccam.cfg.
I have sold my box so this may be a bit sketchy..sorry
In home menu go to plugins and i think its called configure plugins, there choose card and splitter and then choose cccam client, pess the blue button and this will load the .cfg then save with red, he will have to do this every time a new c line is added in the cfg.Again sorry if things are named a little differently or in a slightly different order but you should be able to work your way through it.

You dont need to open any ports to see cccaminfo working.
Port 16001 is the port you should use to view cccaminfo.
It doesnt need to be open if you want to view it on the internal network, only open it if you want to view it from outside.i thought the servers he had inputted in his cccam were not connecting, he had already said he could see the cccaminfo

Have you opened the correct port on your router? just a thought.

Good Evening Guys.
After a bit of thought i have decided to go for a DM800 with the new M tuner at a decent price as my main reciever, ive just a few questions before i take the plunge.
1. Whats the best image?
2. I previously used my azbox to stream media over the network from samba shares, can i do this with the 800? If i can does this have to be done with vlc player running? this really isnt an option as i use my debian c/s machine as a nas too and it justs seems a lot of hassle.
3. Should i be thinking of a different box? i know people will recommend the VU+ but to be honest its a bit out of my price range at the minute.Any advice greatly appreciated

no, it will just cancel the install. Is there no way you can go wired? What you could do is download the cd version rather than the net install this will carry more drivers that might work with your card. Its worth a try.
-
Its in the first screen you see when it starts up, pick graphical install it does the same thing as the guide but gives a bit more info in every step.
-
If you try installing debian with the graphical install it will list the connections it can use, if you dont see your wireless card listed it means it will have to be installed after the rest has installed. This means you will have to go wired and install the wireless drivers, if you dont have a desktop and are just using command line this will be very difficult.. Wireless isnt the best option for a server anyway.

Good idea, but what about a sub section for good peers? people that are a pleasure to share with.

Hi All
Is there anywhere i can get an up to date channel and bouquet list for the dm 500? I have searched the usual places but nobody seems to have an interest in them now, any list is a few years out of date.Thanx
-
If you bought a smargo why do you need a DM500?
Yes you can ftp into the box or better still use winscp to do it.
It makes life a lot easier to set everything with a static ip.
I installed the latest PLI image just a few days ago, looks good and is very stable, but they all install the same way, with dreamup and a null modem cable ( you may need to order one as well?) The PLI image i used has the latest cccam preinstalled, its on the forums.
Good Luck. -
Hi All
I setup a linux server tonight using ubuntu, newcs167, cccam and an omnikey.
I wanted to try connecting with it from my azbox, i had a very simple cfg file withubuntu
F: axbox test 5 0 0 { 0:0:1 }
N: 192.168.1.111 12010 CCcam CCcam 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14in the cfg file on the azbox i had
C: 192.168.1.111 14000 azbox test 5 0 0 { 0:0:1 }this seemed to work ok and in the cccam info i could see the azbox was connecting to the server.
i then added my cccam from my DM 500 to the ubuntu box and just kept the lines i had created earlier on it, however the azbox cant connect to the server i keep getting connection error,
any ideas please?EDIT: Its working ok now it just took a reboot of everything....its all learning
Just noticed my local is at hop one now, how can i get that to show as local now? im using cccam 2.1.1, somebody mentioned an N line with some trick but i havent a clue how to do it.
EDIT2: Doesnt matter i sorted it

the dm500 is a standalone its not connected to the tv and stays in standby all the time.

Hello All
Last weekend i joined the world of cs with my DM500 and have picked up some nice shares from nice people. Ive been reading away and see people being told to watch clients with high ecm's, so what sort of numbers am i looking for? I have one share im a bit dubious off, hes either watching 24hrs a day or hes running a pay server.Another question, how many shares is the optimum for a DM500 i think i remember reading years ago no more than 10 clients or the box cant cope, is this right?
Any other golden rules i should be following?
Thanks
