Thanks for this
I use the iptables that were installed with the auto script on a Debian server, on the most part this works well but can block out good peers at times too. How can i disable iptables to try failtoban and if i dont like it enable them back without much hassle?
Cheers

yes both are right 0:0:0: and the # its up to you but i prefer to see the warning to see who's trying to login...im not paranoid lol
-
if they dont bin the line you gave them, i had a few that didnt, set the F line you made to them for zero shares, if you just delete the F line and they still try to login you will get a load of failed logins in your warning.txt, if your using a DM500 etc as a server it will quickly use up its memory and bring the server to a halt.

i think its the routers fault, i did reboot the box after setting the static ip and the laptop wasnt on at the time.
i never had problems like this before thats why it took a while to figure out :)

Just thought i would post this as it might help out other users in the future.
My story :)
I bought a new server and setup Debian following the excellent guides on here, everything went smoothly and i thought this is getting a lot easier the cccam gods must like me now.
Everything was rattling along nicely and all of a sudden the server would be unreachable from my pc or i would get error messages from ssh, cccaminfo page would maybe take 6 seconds to refresh if it did at all.
Very strange and a reboot wasn't helping it this time, i thought i faced the prospect of reinstalling Debian again which would have been typical especially after setting up samba shares, sabnzbd etc, or the network interface on the new box was faulty, i had already changed the cables twice and tried different ports on the router and switch.
Then it dawned on me as the Mrs was complaining that her laptop wouldn't connect to the net or if it did it was very slow, i checked my router and sure enough the router was giving her the same ip i had set static on the server (stupid thing), set her a static ip on the laptop and restarted everything and both are flying along now.Its just something to think about when things loose connection or start acting odd, it saved me a reinstall...for now :)

are you sure your connecting to the right ip address? this guide doesnt tell you how to set a static ip. You could maybe take a look in your router home page and see if theres a new computer connected, after you do get in with putty follow this guide, and change the ip to one that suits you.
QuoteTo configure a static IP (an IP that will never change) in debian you must edit the file
/etc/networking/interfaces and put the following:CODE
# /etc/network/interfaces -- configuration file for ifup(8), ifdown(8)
# The loopback interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback# The first network card - this entry was created during the Debian installation
# (network, broadcast and gateway are optional)
auto eth0iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.1.10
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.1.0
broadcast 192.168.1.255
gateway 192.168.1.1The last section is the most important, the top may or may not be the same so don't play with it unless you get an error. In this case the IP of the server is 192.168.1.10 so if you run it as a DNS server for example, you can set that in your router's config and not worry about it changing.
To apply this configuration type /etc/init.d/networking restart
You'll get a message that it's restarting the network interface, then you'll get booted off ssh (because the IP changed) so reconnect using the new IP and it should work.
In red hat this file is /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and you would put this in it:
CODE
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=static
ONBOOT=yes
IPADDR=192.168.1.10
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
GATEWAY=192.168.1.1 -
just install and reboot with your card in it, im not sure it will be recognized without the card, you will also need to add a line like this to your cccam.cfg SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB0 smartreader+ you may need to change this to USB1 or USB2 etc.
I had to plug my smargo into a powered usb hub before my pc would recognise it, for some strange reason it wouldnt work when i plugged it directly into the pc.

you mean something like this? http://linuxsat-shares.com/car…at-what-cccamphpinfo.html or are you after something more in depth?
-
and it should be named CCcam.sh?
would not having this script cause multiple instances of cccam to run? I have a problem with one peer where he is getting multiple logins from me, would this cause it?
thanx. -
Quote
#!/bin/sh
if ps x |grep -v grep |grep -c CCcam >/dev/null
then
echo "cccam... ok"
else
echo "cccam... restarting"
/emu/cccam/CCcam_2.2.1 &
fiwhere does this script go?
-
whats the problem your having? is it giving errors etc?

im using windows 7 64bit, cs studio maybe takes 10 refreshes before anything is displayed, on a xp netbook it displays straight away, if you hae a similar setup its maybe worth trying refreshing a few times
-
have you forwarded the port to the right device, try opening udp and tcp, most routers allow you to do this at once
if you want to send me a test line i'll try it for you -
stupid question but are you sure its a .ipk file mines named tunisiasat-addons-manager_3.0_mipsel.ipk
