i use the vhannibal ones but the choice is yours, you will need a channel list editor to upload it to your box http://linuxsat-support.com/forumdisplay.php?f=299 , its very similar to a ftp client so i f you can use one of them you should have no problems
i use dreamboxedit but thats up to you which one you pick
remember to reboot the box afterwards

If virgin is in your area then i would get their broadband.
are virgin doing totally unlimited now? -
or buy a router with a gigabit wan connection ;)

im not trying to be smart or nasty saying this but that router isnt up to much tbh, the problem is the router gets clogged over time causing the crashes.
I had the same problem with a tp link wdr3600 it would run fine for a few days but then would loss internet, the lan end was fine, after further investigation i discovered my router was only rated for up to 8 machines
that sounds a lot but when you count up everything thats connecting in your house and throw in downloads and streaming you can see why they lie down.
The solution was to build my own router using ipcop, you just need an old pc and an extra ethernet card and a switch, i use a 8 port giga one, you can then connect your router to all that as an access point.
I can post pictures of my frankenrouter setup if you want and offer some of my limited knowledge in setting it up -
What an absolute crap of a fight. What they all saying about it being a great fight. ... boring
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

I have a vu solo2 and use it for more than watching satellite channels, it is also an excellent media player with plex installed. At the end of the day this is a hobby and can get expensive very quickly, read, read and read.
Having a top of the range box and a big dish will not get you free satellite, theres a lot more to it, make sure you know what your getting into before spending any money.
We cant tell you what to do but only help and guide after you have made your own choice. -

i havent used a surround sound in ages but as fas i remember the input on the blu ray player will need to be set to aux, you probably tried that anyway but just a thought.
I have a optical lead connected from my lg tv to a sound bar and i didnt have to change any sound settings on the tv but yours may be different, i cant see any reason why it wouldnt work for you. -
