How To Search the Forum

LinuxSat-Support has years of guides, fixes and discussion already posted. Before starting a new thread, a quick search will often find your answer straight away.

Click the magnifying glass icon at the top right of any page, type a few keywords, and press Enter. Use the words you would expect in an answer — for example a model name plus the problem, such as "H9 no signal".

Search Within One Board

When you are reading a board, use its own search option to limit results to that section — useful when a keyword is common across the whole forum.

Open the full Advanced Search to narrow results by:

  • Keywords — in the subject only, or the whole post.
  • Author — find posts by a specific member.
  • Board / category — search only where it matters.
  • Date — limit to recent posts.

Search by Tag

Click any tag on a thread to see every other thread sharing that tag — a fast way to browse all topics about, say, OSCam or Picons.

Tips for Better Results

  • Use a few precise keywords, not a full sentence.
  • Try different wording if the first search comes up short.
  • Search before posting — it is the fastest way to an answer and keeps the forum tidy.
