How To Reply, Quote & React to Posts

Once you have found a thread you want to take part in, there are several ways to join the conversation.
Post a Reply
Scroll to the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the thread, type your message, and click Submit. To open the full editor with every formatting option, click More Options / Preview.
Quote a Member
To reply to a specific post, click Quote beneath that post. The quoted text is added to your reply so everyone can see what you are responding to. Keep quotes short — trim them to the relevant part.
Quote Several Posts at Once
Click Quote on each post you want to include. A "Insert Quotes" button appears — click it to drop all of the selected quotes into a single reply. This is ideal when you are answering several people together.
Mark Text to Quote
Select (highlight) any part of a post with your mouse and a small Quote tooltip appears. Click it to quote only the part you highlighted.
React to a Post
If you simply want to show appreciation without writing a reply, click the Like / reaction control beneath a post. Reactions are a quick way to say thank you and they count towards a member’s reputation.
Mention a Member
Type @ followed by a member’s name in your post and pick them from the list. They receive a notification that you mentioned them — handy for pulling the right person into a discussion.
Etiquette
- Stay on topic — start a new thread for a different question.
- Don’t quote huge posts — quote only what you are replying to.
- Avoid "bumping" — give members time to reply before posting again.
- Say thanks — a reaction or a quick reply is always appreciated.
