How to USB flash the AX HD61 using the recovery menu

You can flash an image onto the AX HD61 from a USB stick using its built-in Multiboot recovery menu. You'll need a FAT32-formatted USB stick.

Flashing a local image

  1. Download your chosen image.
  2. Transfer the complete zip file to the root of the USB stick — do not unzip it.
  3. Power off the AX HD61 and connect the USB stick to the front USB port behind the front flap.
  4. Power on the AX HD61 and, as soon as you do, hold down the top-left power button (or the OK button on the remote).
  5. Once you're in the Multiboot recovery menu, select Bootmenu at the bottom and press OK.
  6. Select Flash local image and press OK.
  7. Select the USB stick where your image zip file is located.
  8. Select the zip file you'd like to flash and press OK.
  9. Choose which slot to flash the image to.
  10. Once complete, select which image you'd like to boot into and press OK.

⚠️ Choose your slot carefully. Flashing to a slot reflashes it — you'll lose everything you've set up in that slot. Note which slot you currently boot from before you choose.
