  • Hi All

I am a newbie on this so go easy :)

ive just bought a wetek play and have OpenElec installed (ish) with TVheadend and have some channels, I also have an old skybox F5s.

My question is is there a way i can configure the wetek so that i can completely replace my skybox using its cccam.cfg?

Does anyone have any experience with this to share, even if its just pointing me in the right direction of where to get started?

    Many thanks

  • Dunno if cccam will work on openelec.
On the other hand, oscam works well.
A tutorial on how to install it is here:
    http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=78014
You can use this tool to convert your cccam line details to work with oscam (converted cccam line details is known as a "reader" in oscam)
    http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=2569
Paste in your cccam details into the top window.
    Hit "convert"
Copy all details in bottom window (make sure to scroll down to select all the details)
These details then need to go into your oscam.server file located at
    \\Your IP weetek\Userdata\addon_data\service.softcam.oscam\c onfig\

  • ok great, thanks for taking the time to assist it was all a bit of a needle in a haystack when i first started looking into it, a nudge in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

do you happen to know if there are channel/egp/skins available for this setup to make it a viable replacement for a skybox or am i better sticking to a 2 box setup and maybe just getting replacing the skybox with a vu+ or something?

  • The wetek is very versatile.
You can load an image similar in setup to a true enigma2 receiver which will give you options regarding skins/epg/channels.
Openelec also has skins but it is mainly developed around xbmc/kodi.
If it is streaming/addons for iptv etc, openelec is your man, but if it is only for satellite, I'd put an enigma2 image on an sd card and use that for your satellite needs.
You can also put enigma2 on Nand (onboard memory) and keep your openelec on sd card, but maybe a bit early for this as most enigma2 images haven't been fully developed yet for the wetek.
    Enigma2 images are here:
