Stream current channel ( like Zapstream )

  • Hi

I would like to distribute what my VU+ Ultimo is currently showing around my house.
I have a unit which converts a ip-stream into a DVB-C signal and this is distributed in my local coax net and works fine.

My problem is that the only way to get a stream from my Ultimo to the IP->DVB-C box is to connect to the Ultimo using VLC on a laptop and then let VLC stream to the the IP->DVB-C box.

What I need is some kind of function/plugin on the ultimo which constantly streams the current channel being watched. In the old Enigma 1 days there was a plugin called Zapstream that could do this, but this apparently doesn't support E2.

Any suggestions how to solve this ? - Thank you.

  • I am not sure of a solution, but just wondering how you use VLC to constantly stream the current channel being watched when the channel changes?

I don't... It was just for testing purposes to see if the IP->QAM unit could handle the stream.
I just made VLC receive a channel from the VU+ using the service ID.

this is the only one i know of but its for e2 to e2

Thanks for the tip. I don't think this plugin will work for my needs.

For info... I just got hold of a unit which can do HDMI->DVB-C and it seems to be the solution.
I will need a splitter for the HDMI output and the picture quality on the DVB-C side is slightly lower compared to the IP->DVB-C box but still good.
This solution also has the advantage that I will get the OSD and menus on the DVB-C signal also.
