Tried to record something tonight and it said cant find the hdd, says i need to intialize the hdd can someone point me in the right direction plz.

Using BlackHole -
Blue --> Blue --> Device Manager
Make sure your HDD has its mountpoint setup (/media/hdd)
Then check your recording path -
Menu --> Setup --> System --> Recording Paths
Default movie location should be /media/hdd
