I got that letter ages ago and it tells me my bill will be going down £2.25 per month due to hd becoming standard from 1st june. Other people have letters saying theirs is going up. Still lots of sd boxs out there i think. It would be interesting to know if anyone is still using a sd box for viewing or is it only people who put their card in third party boxs who are left?
-
yes they also said mine is going up 3.50 in June, Yes wander how many are still using SD boxes?
-
i still use a Sd stb , gota for the 3pin to my audio equipment ;)
aint had no letter yet either
-
got the email last week sub going up by £3.50 but no mention of hd becoming standard
-
lol now they have offered me HD again for £6.50 lol why would they do that if it was becoming as standard soon? I think wer ok for a wile
-
still no letter about HD channels becoming standard but cost rising for sure £3.50
-
I got the letter even though I cancelled my sub in February. Lol.

Sly will never make HD standard. The revenue loss would be far too high for them and for those who pay €15 extra in Ireland at least for the HD privilage.

I have had email and letter but it does not say thay are changing all channels to hd. can you upload a pic of your letter?
-
I had the letter to, I'm 99% sure it was only Movie channel package that would become standard HD.

No its just typical $ky all my arse marketing crap, some customers see their bill going down by £3 or £4 were as a lot of others see theirs going up. Clever marketing, got to say the same shite stuff about their new app for kids channels, the fookers forget to mention what we give you in one hand we take with another. I was all setup to throw this kidsapp on the kids phones and laptops but I then read the app counts as skygo account, so say good bye 1 of your skygo accounts when you install the app :(

aye they want the xtra 5r oota yah for those 2 xtra sly go accounts lol

Interesting, especially this bit
QuoteSet to roll out to customers from July 8, Sky Cinema will also offer HD movies as standard – bye bye, ageing standard definition.

Indeed roll out will take about 1-2 years and it should be fun when they do actually stop the std def ,

Ireland is flooded with people using CS with the likes of Donedeal.ie allowing people to advertise their wares, I had a Postman ask me for one when I went to install Saorview for him. One Month later he phoned me up and asked if I could help him get his channels back working on the openbox he bought off Donedeal as a few went scrambled :P
