  • hi guys
i have vu+solo4k twin sat with cable tuner installed
    running latest openxix

the tuner in the box works but frezzer and puxalates a lot so added my usb turbo tuner but get tuner failed

    any ideas
    cheers

  • Have a look at your signal strength/quality.
Are you using it cable (dvb-c) or terrestrial (dvb-t/t2)?
If it is for terrestrial, you may have a problem with your aerial installation or cabling/rf plugs etc.
Your signal strength/quality should tell you this (if it is poor)

  • As i stated previously sounds like an issue with either cabling/Connectors or you need to add an attenuator or a forward path type to solve the problem, My Onboard Dual DVB-C/T/T2 tuner on the 4K has zero problems although i do have the equipment and parts to remedy any problems for myself

  • i have pluged direct feed into box

    fta does not glitch

can not check premium channels as need to split signal

as soon as i split signal the fta becomes blocking and frezzing

noticed sgr is 99% to 0% and back again

have tryd 3 different splitter all do same

    added attenutor close to box
    still the same

anymore ideas guys doing my head in now lol
    cheers
    to all so far

  • I could be wrong but I always thought splitting a digital signal was not
very successful. Try taking the splitter out and run the cable ditect to
each box in turn and see if that stops the freezing and glitching, it's
    worth a try.

  • you have found the problem yourself when you take a direct feed into the DVB-C tuner and omit the splitter as you say your FTA channels are fine with no sign of freezing or breakup which means you need some form of cable booster.

As soon as you split the signal you are taking away XX.db out of the incoming signal which the tuner cannot handle, Hope your not using a full frequency splitter ie: 5-2400mhz as these also can create problems

Ideally if you do not have a spare official VM splitter then ebay Tratec 2 way splitter for a 5-1000mhz one.

Also log into the VM superhub advanced section and post a screenshot of your power levels

  • hello guys
    i have latest openvix image

    sat tuner is fine

i have installed cable tuner and also tryed my turbo tuner

all low freq just block and glitch on both tuners

    even fta freeze a bit

snr goes from 89% to 0% then back again

    its just unwatchable

    anyone any ideas
i have tryed 2 splitters both do same
