Problem with Smargo reader (oscam ubuntu)

Hi,

I'm currently trying to set up my new server and i cant get my smargo-reader to work.

This is my environment (virtual machine)
Linux cardserver 3.19.0-25-generic #26~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 24 21:16:20 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
OSCam: 1.20-unstable_svn Build: r11209 Compiler: x86_64-linux-gnu
Smargoreader (the blue one, and i thinks it is clone version)

Everything worked fine on my other server but i guess the big difference between them was that my older server was debian and ran a lot older version of OSCam.

My problem is this.
(reader) smargo [smartreader] Error activating card.
(reader) smargo [smartreader] usb bulk write failed : ret = -7
(reader) smargo [smartreader] card initializing error

I have tried some different reader settings i cant get it to work.

Try removing britty:

apt-get remove brltty

Try changing the device info.. Type these lines in telnet:

lsusb -v | grep iSerial

You should get something like this:

iSerial 3 Reader 1

Add this in oscam.server:

device = Serial:Reader 1

Try using a different version of OSCam.. Updating Oscam to latest SVN - Ubuntu & debian with Simplebuild

Hi, i don't have brltty installed, double checked.

lsusb only gives me

  iSerial                 0

I haven't tried a different version of OSCam, do you have any recommendations or should i just update to latest?

Just update to the latest OSCam..

Try updating the firmware on the smargoas well..

I tried it yesterday but i couldn't get the software for windows to work, my reader showed up but when i tried to update the program freezes and crashed.

I just made a new build of the latest OSCam and changed back my OSCam server settings to this.
