i dont think it does it any harm to reboot it everyday and give it a clear out, i reboot mine every other day
-
thanks monkified.
is it possible this is whats causing the issue with disconnecting with b/b. -
are you using mgcamd?

yes abu,i am.
mgcamd.1.38
just for testing my box.
thankyou. -
You are probably using an mg_cfg file that has logging enabled. Mgcamd tries to send logs to the address in the mg_cfg. Your network is flooded and internet stops working.
Using Notepad ++ or any Linux compatible editor(not Windows Notepad), change the L : {03} to L : {00} You can delete the IP address too if you want. This will resolve the internet issue for you and you won't need to reboot.
Most of the configs on this forum have 00. I've never tried the ones with 02 ( log to console).

thankyou abu.
were do i find that file..[my_cfg.]
i will try to see if i can locate it using DCC- - - Updated - - -
ok abu,think i have it.
i was looking for my_cfg.
think you meant mg_cfg.
i ftp to usr/keys/mg_cfg....found what you told me to look for.
it was set as L: { 00 } {next ip addy} 28007 /tmp/mgCamd.log
is it necessary for me to delete the ip addy. -
The {00} means it should not be logging.
The IP address being there should not matter. You can try removing its, no harm in trying.Sorry about previous post, mg_cfg was auto-corrected to my_cfg
-
ok abu.
just removed the ip addy.
but as i said above it was not set to L: {03} but was on the correct setting of L: {00}.
so i wonder if the problem could be something else.
maybe a reboot every morning might take the pressure of the load on the box.
i appreciate your knowledge on this matter.
thankyou. -
