Cron job in vix

Hi everyone
Can anyone help me set a corn job in vix. I want cross epg to download at 4am then goto standby but there isn't an option to do that in the configuration. All I want to do is set a cron job to go in to standby at 4:15am.

There is no benefit whatsoever in using CrossEPG downloader at 04:00. Even Sky receivers stay asleep until after 6:00

Setup power timers to send box to go to deep sleep after inactivity. Make it wake up 10 minutes before you normally use it. EPG data is normally 7 days, so you should have EPG datat for today anyway.

Use EPG Import, better CrossEPG

If you want to try cron commands, look file /etc/cron/root

does epg import work for cable as well as satalite,

Cross EPG downloader cannot download EPG for cable from the signal wire. It downloads from the internet.

That data is the same whether you use Cross EPG or EPG/XMLTV Importer.

Any errors should be reported to Doglover on PLI. He needs the channel name and service reference for channels with no/wrong EPG.
