  • Hi all,

Hopefully you will be able to help me.

I currently live in a flat and have TT internet. There was a sat feed into the flat when I moved in so was able to plug my Vu Zero box in and get sly working without any issues. Now my TT is coming to an end and with all the issues there are with them at the moment I have decided to leave them.

My new thought is getting cable. At the moment I don't know if it has been setup previously within the flat so not sure whether I can get it already. My question is shall I get the VU+ Turbo USB Tuner DVB-C/T2 for now or bite the bullet and get a new box. I am not overly fussed about recording but would be nice to be able to select between Sly and Virmin.

I also have an Apple TV 4 which I use for Kodi. Right now I am considering getting rid of that and having the one box that can do everything. How does everyone in the UK get their catchup services? I have a smart TV which I can get a few through.

Please let me know your thoughts. Would be interested to hear what setup everyone has.

    Cheers,
    Dave

EDISION OS MINI+ might be an option. Its single tuner can be used for either DVB-S/S2, DVB-T/T2 OR DVB-C, satellite And Terrestrial / Cable feeds.

    Edision OS MINI+ Plus 1x DVB-S2/T2/C H.265 HEVC Linux Enigma 2 Digital Receiver HD 1080p PVR - £99

I get catchup services from smart tv and Kodi addons..

If you want a box with Kodi and enigma2 look at the latest VUPlus range of receivers. If you gave us your budget we could recommend which model to go for.

If you do get a VU+ Turbo, be aware it can only be used on vu+ receivers.. An alternative is the sundtek usb tuner, which can be used on any receiver..

  • Thanks for your response master G. I don't really have a budget. I started off with the Skybox then moved onto the Vu Zero. I am constantly learning about the software and images and am ready for the next box. I am selling Apple TV, Vu Zero so will have a bit extra towards a new box. Maybe £300+ if I am paying for something that is actually worth it.

Right now I have Oscam running fine on my box but want to get something to see if I can receive cable currently. If it doesn't work and the line isn't coming into my flat then I will be getting a broadband line in April with VM so I can then use that.

Please correct my if I have been misled and this isn't possible.
