Can't connect to Amiko using Winscp or Putty root password not working when running enigma2

I recently installed enigma 2 on my Amiko Alien 2 box ,Previously I was using Spark, when I try to telnet using putty or connect using Winscp I use username root and password root, I am told it's the wrong password. If I change the back to Spark the username and password root works I have tried factory restore but this makes no difference. Help Harry
