  • HI guys, i hope somebody can help me as i have been at this for hours, here's where I'm at:

I have my router upstairs (Cisco EPC2425) and my VU+ duo downstairs.

I purchased a Vonet Wifi bridge and paired it to my wireless network and tested it on a laptop and it works fine.

When I connect the Vonet wifi bridge to my VU+ the light turns blue (as it should) but it in the network settings of the VU+...... IP, Netmask & gateway display "N/A", the primary and secondary DNS are displayed though.

I have DHCP enabled on the vu+ and also tried manually assigning the VU+ an IP but that didnt work

I'm running Vix 2.3 on the box.

When i brought the Vu+ box upstairs and connected directly to my router via an ehternet cable, it was given an IP straight away and connected immediately.

I also know that the vonet wifi bridge is configured correctly because I have tested it on my laptop.

But it seems the vonet wifi bridge and the vu+ wont play nice together.

    Any ideas guys?

I read somewhere you can turn LAN & WAN on, on the vu+? how do i do this?

    Any help ideas appreciated guys

I really hope i dont have to start drilling holes in my ceiling :0

    Thanks in advance

  • so you have to mount a wifi bridge just like you do with the HDD and USB drives?

Could you provide a little more detail if you have time mate?

    would really appreciate it

    cheers

    • Official Post

The wifi bridge is an ETHERNET adapter.

You don't have to use wireless setup because the box is connected via ethernet.

This means the box will have to work in lan mode and not in wlan mode.

    1) Configure your bridge via Pc.

    2) Configure the lan network adapter in your Vu+, "use Interface" yes, "Use DHCP" yes.

Have you tried switching off the encryption in router or Vonets and and see if it works ?

Maybe try a different encryption ?

  • One bit of advice i can give you buddy is that when you have the bridge configured via your PC,switch the duo off before connecting the bridge to it,when you have connected the usb & ethernet plug switch the duo back on.
