Poor signal 4.8E

    Hi. Looking for advice. My multi LNB signal is very weak to 4.8E. Maybe its just not possible but I see other people with success.


    I have 80cm Technomate mesh dish, multi 4 Way LNB bracket and Technomate quad LNB


    I have good signal on 28.2 19.2 and 13.0E but very bad on 4.8E

    You need your dish pointing on the weakest satellite for your location bud that’s almost certainly 4.8e in your case !


    I once had the same kinda setup but was with 23.5e added

    & IMO you’d be best adding that as it’s got a lot to offer over 4.8e


    Or Why not motorise the dish ?

    Have you checked your tilt of the 4.8 LNB (Skew)


    Depending on where in the world you live you also need to set the Skew right

    special when using multiLnb Dish


    About 2.5-3 degrees tilt Skew is needed

    LNB Skew ("turn clockwise standing behind the dish")

    So how does the signal bounce?

    @Inspiral Motorised isn't a option because more than one person watches at the same time.


    @seagen I thought skew was clockwise standing in front of the dish? I set this correctly on the others.

    I'm glad you mention it though because the other day I tried turning the dish to improve the signal on 4.8... but I didn't touch the skew while doing it so that might be why I saw no improvement.


    Are there any calculators for angle and elevation for multi lnb setups? Where I can input which sats I want.

    What is your location?

    As You need a 4 sat setup with the hotspot of the dish setting up on the weakest sat = 4.8e

    Then add your others too it but in your case 13e be ok but not 19e & 28e


    What are you wanting to watch on 4.8e?



    Or you could get a 28e mini dish as a stand-alone dish & using a disec switch add it to your setup

    Then try add your 3 other sats on the 80cm but 4.8e needs to be on the hotspot of the dish

    I am in the UK midlands

    Reading online I saw someone else mention putting 28.2 on a separate dish. The current dish is on a scaffold pole in the garden so adding a mini dish is easy enough.

    Would I really loose 19.2?

    Since I'd be centring over 4.8 ish I'd look into getting 0.8W too

    Only have 4 way diseqcs at the moment. Should have gotten 8 ways.

    You might be lucky getting 19.2 but I doubt it.,


    Unless you get a 60cm 2nd dish & add 19e & 28e


    Then 80cm on 1w 4.8 & 13e ;-)

    A bit off topic but can any of you help me with setting up OSCAM keys?

    From what I understand I should be able to get some of the stuff on 13e with keys and some of the few channels I'm picking up on 4.8?

    Seems the keys I have don't work or my config is not correct in OSCAM.

    I dont have a box I use a PC with tvheadend
