thanks you master G... can an .ipk be downloaded on a DM900/NN2 ? thought it should be an .deb ? let me try anyway and i will report
-
it is what i thought… doesn't appear in the manual install if placed in /tmp… is there any firmware-rtl8192eu_1.0-r0_all.deb ?
-
thought it should be an .deb
Depends which image you are using.
If its a DreamOS image you require a .deb extension.
If its an OE-Alliance, or Openpli based image an .ipk is required.
Which image are you using?
I can convert it to .deb extension if you need it.

Thanks…. The installation went well but my stick is still not recognized
to the command # usb-devices i can read this is the usb N°5
T: Bus=04 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=480 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 2.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=2357 ProdID=0107 Rev=02.00
S: Manufacturer=Realtek
S: Product=802.11n NIC
S: SerialNumber=00e04c000001
C: #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=e0 MxPwr=500mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 5 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff Driver=(none)
yet my usb is a TP-Link TL-821N and in TP-Link website the driver pack indicates clearly that the chipset is rtl8192eu thus my request…
but as you can see there is still no driver attached to the stick ! : Driver=(none)
is there a way of forcing NN2 to attach the installed driver to the usb device ? or any ther command that establish the association ?

and btw if i issue the command # apt-get install kernel-module-rtl8192* …. i read this
kernel-module-rtl8192c-common is already the newest version.
kernel-module-rtl8192ce is already the newest version.
kernel-module-rtl8192cu is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
but the driver rtl8192eu is not listed after the above install

but the driver rtl8192eu is not listed after the above install
I will have another look to see if i can find this driver.
Hopefully someone else can chime in while i look.
-
thanks for the help… Another hint
when i type # modinfo rtl8192*
NN2 returns this
modinfo: ERROR: Module rtl8192eu-linux-driver-master not found
(actually i did a previous attempt following tutorials from the manufacturer to compile the driver on linux but i stopped the sequence as the tutorials were not meant to apply to NN2 environment…. i have been asked to issue a dkms command ! anyway… )

Hello i have to install usbkey TL WN823N on dm900 on dream elite 6 image,
how do i proceed?
where can i find the driver?
thank you -
I think you need rtl8192cu driver.
-
-
Extract the file zip with help.
Use your telnet for two commands (1 depmod -a 2 modprobe 8812au), only then to show up wifi
