Problems with Oscam server after green screen of death

  • Yesterday no more space for recording on my Dreambox DM920, so it went green screen and I had to reflash the box totally in order to remove the error.

    Now I am having a hard time setting up the Oscam server on it again. The clients in the house wont read the codes, while all is ok with the Dreambox with the original card (Canal Digital).

    Oscam user running fine. The other clients looks like they are "connected", but dont decode.

    I used hours and I cant seem to find the problem.... below is my settings and live log:

    Where did I go wrong? Anyone able to help and make my day? :)

  • Hu.

    Here it would also help to see the LOG from the softcam client, which is not working but the client is as you type - connected. It depends on how other clients are configured. In the server LOG cannot be seen any other users (their connecting and attempting to request ECM).

    Did you back-up the Oscam server configuration and now restore it after flashing ? Or did you change something in your server configuration, and that's why it doesn't work ? Is it the same softcam server configuration ? For example, have you changed the definition of CAID ? Do you miss some files in the Oscam configuration ? How do you set up other users in "oscam.user" file - under other users you also have group=2 ?

    What does the whole LOG look like ? Do not see any client connection attempts or ECM decoding attempts in your server LOG, as I wrote above. So the error is likely to be on the client side due to a change in the server configuration.

  • Cccam-Webif: http://box_IP_address:16001

    This could be a possible cause of problems. It often happens that Cccam does not work with Oscam and it is necessary to find a mistake (cccam communication protocol).

    However, if Oscam is used as a cccam-client with also Oscam as a cccam-server, no problem will normally arise.

  • Meanwhile...I think I found the problem, the caid was wrong in the oscam.conf .... meaning I just got picture on the client as well :)

    Its time to make a backup for next time....

    Now I only have problem the original Canal Digital card wont update, does my settings look ok for this ? (I upgraded my program package with CD this week, but the card is not updated).

    Here is the log (not found), when I go to the new channels (which have been unlocked this week)

  • No, because in the LOG from your softcam server, above, I noticed that the user "sleeping" is not writing anything. Try checking and adjusting the AU / EMM settings on both the softcam client and server side.

    Code
    2020/03/27 09:43:23 67588F29 c (client) encrypted newcamd:10002-client 80.___.__.__ granted (sleeping, au=off)
    2020/03/27 09:43:23 67588F29 c (newcamd) user sleeping authenticated successfully (CCcam)
    2020/03/27 09:43:23 67588F29 c (newcamd) AU disabled for user sleepng

    Unfortunately I do not see the internal user "oscam" in the LOG server.

    You can try au = reader_label instead of au = 1 in the "oscam.user" file, under accounts. Also, use the AU only for some users, not for all. Ideal for the two most active users only. Turn off the AU for other users. Of course, this also depends on the type of card encoding. Some coding systems do not need EMMs at all, and some need EMMs every 10 seconds.

  • I actually already did like this - with same result (it disables AU from client) .... :

    [account]

    user = oscam

    pwd = oscam

    monlevel = 4

    au = 1

    group = 1,2

    [account]

    user = sleeping

    pwd = sleeping

    caid = 0B00

    au = Canal_Digital

    group = 1,2

    ident = 0B00:000000,006010,006020,006030,006040,006050,006060,006070,006080

  • how do I change the protocol?

    For the log I cant enter with port 16001 on the server, only the client, cant see any log there though..;

  • As you can see, ECMs work and are decoded. AU also works.

    Is your client not Cccam + installed on a Linux set-top box ? Because they have their own Webif (web-config interface). You can set a different port (see the configuration file "cccam.cfg").

    What you sent before, is valid for Cccam server, not for Cccam client.

    If you only see a black picture, the error may also be in the receiver itself (for example, unsupported video format h265 ?) . Of course, the cause can be elsewhere :-/.

    I do not know your provider at all, your coding and I do not know what you have there as connected to each other.

    The LOG you sent is fine.

    Why are you using this: ident = 0B00:000000,006010,006020,006030,006040,006050,006060,006070,006080 ? Are you sure this is correct ? What if you block some of the necessary channels ("provid" in the decode card) ?

    ///// EDIT:

    Your "sleeping" user connects simultaneously via newcamd and cccam ?! If so, change it. Use only one type of connection (communication softcam protocol) !

  • Yeah, client is cccam. If I use the 16001 port that was what came up....

    Videoformat should be same, not issue there....

    Did delete the ident lines, dont know if it makes difference (it was a line I got elsewhere in the forum recommended for CD Nordic).

    If I want to change the newcamd settings below to the cccam protocol instead, how do I do that? copy the lines?

    Oscam.conf:

    # oscam.conf generated automatically by Streamboard OSCAM 1.20_svn SVN r11523

    [global]

    logfile = /dev/tty

    nice = -1

    waitforcards = 0

    preferlocalcards = 1

    [newcamd]

    key = 0102030405060708091011121314

    port = 10001@093E:000000

    port = 10002@0B00:000000

    [cccam]

    port = 12000

    nodeid = A5BD260210861454

    version = 2.1.3

    reshare = 1

  • Just comment (with a # at the beginning of the lines) the newcamd definition in the softcam server configuration. Or stop attaching the newcamd protocol on the client side! Easy! Why do you connect both newcamd and cccam from client ? :) Use only one protocol at the client side.

    You can also leave multiple communication protocols open on the server. It doesn't interfere. The best way is to stop using both protocols on the softcam client side. That is, delete the newcamd config on the client side and leave only cccam (or vice versa - depending on which encoding is used or according to the DVB provider, other softcam protocols are always more appropriate).

  • On the client side I only use CCCam.... newcamd I didnt use for years actually. Changed the N line to a C line in the cccam.cfg on the client- It now uses the ccam protocol... it didnt make a change though... card still didnt update on Oscam server, meaning still black screen on the new channels.

    So how should the oscam.conf look like then - pls specify?

  • Why "oscam.conf" uhm ... I have already told you that the server can run all available protocols as a server.

    The only thing that matters is that your "sleeping" user does not connect via newcamd, but cccam:

    Code
    2020/03/27 12:09:45 205E28A3 c (newcamd) client connected to 10002 port
    2020/03/27 12:09:45 205E28A3 c (client) encrypted newcamd:10002-client 80.___.__.__ granted (sleeping, au=on (1 reader))
    2020/03/27 12:09:45 205E28A3 c (newcamd) user sleeping authenticated successfully (CCcam)
    2020/03/27 12:09:45 205E28A3 c (newcamd) AU enabled for user sleeping on reader Canal_Digital

    For cccam settings (C-Line, N-Line) check the following links:

    N-Line format vs Oscam: N-Line vs Oscam

    C-Line format vs Oscam: C-Line vs Oscam

    So try to reconfigure the client "sleeping", the connection from newcamd (N-line) to cccam (C-line). But that probably won't help ... even though I'm not sure if AU / EMMs are working properly, it looks like they should work.

    Sleeping using cccam protocol now ... anyways didnt help... still no update even AU is on.

    Maybe I need to put card in the original box.

    I assume its Conax and Nordic Canaldigital?

    If so in reader settings remove all caid and ident settings no need they just complicate stuff

    Conax is easy to add and setup.

    All you need is to setup

    1. Enable / needs to be checket

    2. device /Example: /dev/sci0

    3. Group /Normal its set to 1

    4. emmcash /mine is set to 1,3,10,0

    Leave averthing else as default and all blank boxes stay blank

    save and restart Oscam then just check that reader is enable (running) if not enable it and should work just fine
