  • Please move to correct section if needed.
I see different oscam configs posted occasionally. Because now new versions of oscam-emu are usually only the binary I rarely change my config files.
Some new binaries create new readers that I'll never use. I'm only interested in a PV emulator because pv, biss, and others not using a card are what I need to clear.
Not much is explained to understand and/or modify settings that may make them clear better or faster. How would I relate the different settings and numerics to the channels I get or could be getting if modifying the settings? Eager to learn.

My oscam-server reader sections. Other sections like csXXX not included here.

label = constant.cw is for biss keys.

regular oscam can only read a constant.cw file, not SoftCam.Keys

label = emulator is for all the other keys.

Its for OSCam EMU and can read both key files mentioned above.

Use the combination of both readers if you want all keys from different providers.

Unless you can view these providers/satellites, adding the configs does nothing.

  • Thank you master G. I didn't know about the biss section at all. Configs are posted and I try them out but little is explained if they make my setup work better.
Some actually have not. It would be nice to be able to find out what the highlighted sections are actually doing. A few words, a link or two. Little is actually covered. Or if the sections are related to other config files.

One standard emulator config won`t be suitable for everyone.

We all pickup different satellites, so a config for Europe won`t be for someone in the USA.

Figure out which satellite providers you can view from a SoftCam.Key file then edit the values caid & ident (provider ID`s) accordingly.

cacheex = is for people with real local cards who share cache with each other. It has no benefit in your reader for keys.

emmcache = logs whether you are receiving EMM`s or not. Changing the value shows different things in the log. Removing the value just stops EMM`s from showing in the log.

auprovidid = auto updates a specific provider ID. Pretty sure this is only for real cards and does the same as emu_auproviders. So you don`t need both.

    emu_auproviders = insert used provider ID`s here.

disablecrccws_only_for = is required to view some providers. Add the caid:ident here.

  • So after awhile I'm still trying to find the info that make my oscam-emu work better on my recei

    emu_auproviders = insert used provider ID`s here.

disablecrccws_only_for = is required to view some providers. Add the caid:ident here.

    Where to find provider ID?
    Also caid:ident

I know I should know more by now but still need a bit of help.
Are these the only things in the config files besides keys that will make oscam work better?

What issue's are you having with oscam.emu ??

with your remote - menu - information - service information should give you your provider details

Caid should be in your oscam log, but for biss or powervu there is only a few

Under my emulator reader this is what i have for caid:

    Code
    0500,0604,090F,0E00,1010,1801,2600,2602,2610,4AE1

    and indent

    Code
    0500:000000,023800,021110,007400,007800;0604:000000;090F:000000;0E00:000000;1010:000000;1801:000000,007301,001101,002111;2600:000000;2602:000000;2610:000000;4AE1:000011,000014,0000FE
  • Hi Jens. Took me a few days to get back to this.
Your question about what issues with oscam. If this makes sense at all. I don't know. It's working. I get pv and biss ok.
It's my assumption that config files are for your side of the drink. There have been configs posted as the "latest" or those that are packaged in an ipk.
Some have totally borked oscam even though I use the same keys file. I get AU updates and 'added by oscam' lines added in the keys file.
That helps to manually replace old expired ones.
Getting logs working correctly has been one problem. Even though I set a path and enable logging, no such file errors pop up or simply aren't in the set path when I take a peek. Could be I'm missing something.

Getting back on track. Not knowing if my configs are correct for over here.
And some of the vague explanation and lack of reasoning of the settings from github and the other places.
I get cleared channels well. But perhaps knowing how they relate to config settings may get a few more to clear.
    Make sense?

yes that dose makes sense, a lot has changes with oscam over the last few months , i have tweaked my configs to solve problems with 3 sat providers and a cable provider, but this has only been possible with the patches applied to oscam....

so yes as you say Europe and UK in particular specific tweaks..... probably not of much use to you

post all of your configs (zipped) files here in the thread, we can have a look, make suggestions and see if it helps, at least the logging part should be fixable....

  • I'm back. Here's my config folder sans the keys file found elsewhere here.
This config is what I've used for a long time. I tried configuring a logs through the webif with different levels. I'm using external hdd for that.
Filezilla wouldn't let me create a sub folder in /media/hdd/log named oscam (/media/hdd/log/oscam).
So I created oscam in /media/hdd/oscam. It remains unpopulated. I set permissions 755 for it to see if it would populate. Nope.
I do have a bunch of .cwl files in /media/hdd/log. Do you need those?

Running OSCam r11581-798 currently. If there are config settings that would make it work different or better, I'm a bit clueless.
Things like 0E00: dont really make sense or what it actually does.
At times I've modified oscam.provid and possibly a few others to try to make live log show the correct channel received.
Even though the setting in config to make the correct channel show was set, that didn't work on its own.

Thinking back some versions of oscam create a whole butt load of new readers. I delete the ones that don't have to do with emulator and constant cw.

Also if I may ask. Do any of the TBS card pc applications with pv emu (or any that read a .ts file and use pv emu) do anything more than logging with drakkar and running pvhe to discover keys?

    Here it is:

    oscam-trunk.zip

okay quick reply here, will add to this post when time allows, i got logging working to hdd

just created a directory with filezilla

    Code
     /media/hdd/oscam-log

that's one i may have missed. creating a directory and assigning it isn't enough. i see you actually assigned a name to the file to be populated. let's see what we get now here on my end. mine now is: /media/hdd/log/oscamuser.log

Hopefully log to hdd now works ??

thats right, no need for unused readers

Your probably going to have to spend some time with your oscam.services file to sort this issue out, this is part ofthe help file on that section:

a few examples from my file (sorry european sats !! )

Not got my pc card working yet.... perhaps others may offer some more insight here

not used this HERE myself but looks like it could help, it is in German though
