There aint any drivers for a null modem cable m8its just a cable no electronics in it. Its a rs232 serial cable with the TX and RX crossed. Wots the issue?

I have tried to reflash my openbox but my lab top is not reconising my labtop
you must reflash via RS-232 and you need a real RS-232 port , sometimes it works with a usb-rs232 adapter.

I thought to reflash an openbox you used a usb stick and did it from the menu. Or is it that you cant boot the box? Try and explain your problem so we know where you are starting from... Good box just updating firmware or not good box?

What the make or model of the usb to serial cable ? then we can try to find the drivers from the manufacturers website.

the firmware is corrupt i have a null modem cable the usb one for my labtop my computer reconized it but want let me reflash my box its says open firmware but want let me
I know some of the usb to serial convertors dont work even with the drivers. I had issues with one when trying to flash a dm500 where dreamup would not connect. There are some that work I think the prolific pl2302 is ok but not sure. The best way is to try and find an old desktop with a native serial port and use that. If you just have a laptop then its a case of finding the right usb to serial m8
