openwebif is not working due to this error

i think this error that python-six package does not include

    Code
    ensure_str

the six package installed in the image 1.10 and should be at least 1.12

i tried to update it from the image but received this error

  • hello

i know it is not your image fault but openpli but if you can manage it will be good.

openpli include package lib6c 1.24 which is old version,pure2 and openatv are using lib6c 1.32

recent versions of lib6c needed for new external libraries like bittorrent library(libtorrent)

more details about the problem here

  • Also as suggestion if you build systemtime with the image will be good also.

many users now use box for streaming and do not install dvb channels and so system time will be wrong and this may disturb ssl-certification for https streaming

  • also another probem regarding requests library also as my opinion should be already installed

python-requests is used by many plugins for internet sources fetching.

This is already built in Japhar version since few years, boot box without sat and you will see that date/time is correct.

Thanks for the lib6c, we will look on it. About Python please be more specific, Thanks.

  • python requests is popular and used by many plugins to download data from internet and in all images is already installed except openpli

    we can install it by

    opkg update

    opkg install python-requests

but this is unacceptable to ask user to install commonly used library

  • It just updates when enigma2 loads, when in fact it is needed. So it "wasn't wrong", you just checked when it was unnecessary to be in time.

    Emo

  • Will get that added, if it fits on small boxes, that are our main target, as Japhar Team.

    DM800HD/DM500HD/DM800HDse/DM8000HD, are our "users" boxes.

  • i know but at least for new dreamboxes.

even for old boxes pure2 , openatv and openvision include latest version of lib6c.

it is just suggestion to take into consideration because we need openpli to be the best but openpli team are not listening always.

Did you tried to install the torrent files from the feeds ? What is the interest of your version vs the one of the feeds ? Just to understand, as I don't use torrent at all.

glibc 2.26 (that compiles ok on our sources right now) will be not enough at what I can read, but 2.28 could be ok ?

  • Libtorrent is new external library and the only image include this library in feed is pure2 image but i install the torrent library when TSmedia installed to other images.

may be the feed contains other torrent packages but all are not applied to enigma and depends on running of torrent client in pc but libtorrent is standalone, light for enigma2 and the value of this library to download any movie ,series or music from internet with high quality with very fast speed as 10gb movies may be downloaded with 10 minutes, also feature of this library you can start watching movie after downloading small portion from and no need to wait antil download completed.

The older version of libtorrent (python-libtorrent-rasterbar_1.2.0-git0-5018d91bb8) needs at least lib6c 2.28 while the later version 1.2.4 needs at least lib6c 2.32

you can install it by this TSmedia setup script

    Code
    wget http://tunisia-dreambox.info/TSmedia/software_official/installer.sh -O - | /bin/sh

    or alone by this script

    Code
    wget http://tunisia-dreambox.info/TSmedia/software_official/libtorrent/installer.sh -O - | /bin/sh

and you can check if it is installed or not or there is error by

    telnet

    Code
    python
    import libtorrent

    answer

    Code
    root@dm820:~# python
    Python 2.7.13 (default, Sep 21 2019, 12:16:05)
    [GCC 6.3.0] on linux2
