Hm , maybe the one possibility. Try with firmware update via browser with original image or some other. When finished it should
be reboot automaticaly. If it doesn't work then you will have to give on servicing.

Compo,
Thanks for your detailed advices: it is so useful.
I tried:
First: using another power supply, result negative. No rebooting.
Second: removing the Peritel cable connecting the box to my cathodic Philips large screen TV: result negative. No rebooting.
I am not good at soldering.
The box worked perfectly well until the streaming provider reprogramed the box for CCcam one day testing.
My question: is there a way for a true specialist to try penetrate the box with internet and act as a surgeon?

Did you remove the tuner altogether and then try booting ?
If not try that.
Panda555,
Thank you for your suggestion. I tried 7 images including two used in the past that were in my Dreambox 800HD files.
Regarding servicing, I have no idea whom to send it yo? I am right now in Spain. If you know someone capable to repair it, I am interested to contact him.
Montroc
Compo,
Yes , that is what I did.
Check visually the big capacitors on motherboard, that could have leak/hill on top.

if you got internet connection
and you say CCcam config is the problem
using DCC
copy CCcam.cfg found in /etc/ to your desktop so you can allways use it again
save anything else you think you may need
and delete CCcam
/usr/bin/CCcam ( whatever number )
if you have HDD disable it
if you have USB remove it
and see if it starts
but i think your problem is the SKIN your using
if your brave id delete any skin you installed ( YOU INSTALLED ) ( /usr/share/enigma2/ ) ( whatever name )
you can try and see if it kicks in
maybe try this first
telnet
init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade && init 6
the power supply problem
would let you boot
but you would have no signal on sats from my experience
DM800 Hd or se
there is not much space after image and skin with cams and a few plugins
there is not much left for it to do it's thing
anything you add will make it unstable and risk of not booting up
space is at a premium on dm800
thanks dvld2,
Let me be accurate regarding internet connection:
1- When I insert the power supply plug, the ethernet plug starts flashing both colors: yellow and green, led starts flashing red and on the box screen, message: Dream Multimedia. The tv screen opens with a V+ Black Hole 2.1.7 http://www.vuplus-community.net purple image,
2 -10 seconds after, everything stops during 15 seconds: only internet plug yellow, non led light , TV screen is black
3 - The ethernet plug starts flashing both colors: yellow and green, led starts flashing red and on the box screen, message: Dream Multimedia booting... . The tv screen opens with a V+ Black Hole 2.1.7 http://www.vuplus-community.net booting ...blue image,
When I open DDC with the right parameters, There is non connexion with the box and a message: "error 10057 on functioning Send Socket is not connected."
that is the detailed analytic and documented story
Thanks a lot for you goodwill. I appreciate it very much. It is good to be good!

no matter what you do now
everything you had inside your box is lost
the only option you got is to re-flash with new image
i wouldn't use blackhole it's one of the largest images you can get
and openpli is one of the smallest ( even though it's not supported by openpli )
good luck
you learn by messing up
technodvl2,
Thanks for your precious information.
Among my seven image flashing negative experiences, there was an image recommended by a member: OpenPli-2.1-beta-dm800-20140510.nfi
The sole image that enabled at least the generation of the images presented in my detailed analytic and documented story was suggested by teak-won-do:
newenigma2-ipk-weekly-dm800-06_09_2020.nfi. With all 5 others, including my own two ones, no image at all appeared on the TV screen.
So your point on size makes sense.
What is the full nfi address of the OpenPli you recommend, if you still recommend it.
Thanks again

i have dm800 se

but problem free for about 3 years if not more
try use Flashexpander
Send ipk file via FTP (via DCC or FileZilla) to tmp> / var / temp
after over telnet:
opkg install /tmp/*.ipk
reboot
Extend your Flash memory to an USB memory stick:
1. add an empty USB memory stick to your box (be aware the content will be deleted)
2. prepare your USB memory stick for FlashExpander
Menu
Setup
System
Storage device
choose your USB memory stick which you want to use for FlashExpander (be aware the content will be deleted)
Red Button: Initialize
after the USB memory stick is formatted do not mount it
3. Reboot your box (this is important also if you just use an already ext3 formatted USB memory stick without initialize)
4. Extend your Flash memory using FlashExpander
Menu
Plugins
Start Flashexpander
choose your USB memory device and start the copy process (this takes a few minutes)
a message will appear to restart the box
5. Check if FlashExpander is working
Menu
Plugins
Start Flashexpander
6. Now you should have plenty of free Flash memory
New installed Plugins will be installed on extended Flash on USB
reboot
Teak-won-do,
Thanks for your suggestion
Il shall explore it and let you know any progress in that direction.

Flash image with bad sector recovery. Then reboot box and flash image normaly again.
if during boot the box still restart infinitely, then replace the 4 big capacitors (you could first remove the tuner board, hdd if any, anything connected to the USB, and any paytv smartcards on frontpanel. If box boot properly then its definitely the 4 big capacitors to be replaced with 105’ ones if possible from Rubycon for quality).
Emo
Emo,
I appreciate very much your attention and support.
Could you give me the *.nfi image address of such a bad sector recovery? I have no idea where to find one.

The BSR is an option to activate in the BIOS or thru the JapharFlasher/DreamUp, while you flash a nfi image file.
Emo
Emo,
thanks
I am not a programmer neither technician. I can operate. I do not have the slightest idea of what is BSR.
Could tell me practically the list of operations and their precise sequence to execute to implement your advices.
Thanks a lot.

You have all instructions on the link we gave you thru PM (it's activated via the BIOS or using a tool such as JapharFlasher/DreamUp),
