PC Spec for linux server

    Im just wondering, on what sort of spec of pc/server would i be looking at to run a linux server reasonably well


    of course better processor more memory is always going to be better, but im just wondering what type of tackle is required to do this reasonably well.


    If you know of any links to second hand equipment, they would be gratefully received.

    you can run a pc server on a notbook if you like, but like you said cpu , memory ect all count for what i have read on web and spoke to poeple on here x64 seems to be most popler which makes sence cos its faster than a x32 duo core so its up to you realy m8.

    You don't need a massively high spec system to act as a server.


    one of these would be more than adequate.

    As pheonix said the above is more than enough, here is a shot from a machine with even less yet the load on the server is next to nothing. Even an old netbook with cracked screen could do the job.
