Ok doesn't seem to be calling for the keys folder.
But also isn't asking for any other files other then the password.txtSo maybe try removing the other files you have added just leaving the client.conf, openvpn.log and password.txt files.
-
Scrap that.
Rename your Client.conf to client.conf -

Ive tried this already, openvpn will not start if i delete the keys folder and the serverp2p.conf file. i can delete the client 1-2-3 files and it will run but my ip address never changes from the real one.

see post above
-
I already have renamed the file, but like i say i cant start openvpn once i delete the keys folder and the serverp2p.conf file. Please see pic of my current state.
-
well that makes no sense as I only have client.conf, password.txt and openvpn.log on my box and it starts just fine.
-
I suggest disabling the openvpn again (yellow button).
Delete all files from /etc/openvpn (leave the openvpn.log file if you want it).
Reboot your box (not E2 restart).
Then add your files again to /etc/openvpn, make sure the client.conf is named in lowercase.
Then enable the openvpn again with the yellow button and start with the green button. -
OK i will do it again but i know that openvpn will not start because of the missing key files. I cant explain this part in a better way. I know it should be a case of just copying my configs over but on normal blackhole images it will not, i have tried 3.10 / 3.09 / 3.0.8 using different builds.
What i can say is that my configs work on Open BH but i dont wanna use that image.
Update, openvpn will not start.
-
If the original conf files are still in place, then no it won't start. That is why I said delete all files first.
Then add your own files and make sure client.conf is named in lowercase.
Then it will work (well it does for me anyway with both BH and Open BH), using the same files. -
can you be clearer on which files to delete because the key folder is not a file but there are many files inside it, thanks for all your help.
this is my situ now, openvpn will not start unless i have the keys folder there. With this scenario the log reports errors regarding the delite.key which i have no clue what its suppossed to do, I have also tried ftping this file on its own with my other files but same problem. The only way for my openvpn to start is by having the "serverp2p.conf and the keys folder present. Other than that it will not start.

remove all files and folders from the openvpn folder, except the openvpn.log file.
Delete everything else including the keys folder.
Add your files, to the openvpn folder, just make sure client.conf is named in lowercase as your screenshot has it named with a capitol C.this is my situ now, openvpn will not start unless i have the keys folder there.
because you did not do what I said at the start and delete all the pre-installed files, they are example files for people to create there own files with, if they do not have any.
Remove files with red lines through them
-
I have tried that scenario many times and openvpn will not start, added my adpoter settings in case that might be the issue.
-
These are the only files you need in your openvpn folder.
-
Tried it mate as you can see but openvpn will not start without that key folder so there must be something in there. Is there a way to upgrade my openvpn to the latest coz 2.3.6 seems rather old.
-
No it can't be updated as BH uses old files and until Vu+ update the libs then nothing can be done to update it.
But you don't need the keys folder, you need the files as per my photoshopped image. If you are still getting that error, then check you haven't renamed the serverp2p.conf as client.conf by mistake.
-
Ive not renamed any of the default files. But i dont need that file according to the screenshots anyway but on the other hand openvpn will not start without it being present. For openvpn to start i still need the keys folder for whatever reason. If i dont have serverp2p.conf & Kys folder then openvpn cannot be started period.
This is on the serverp2p.conf file
# openvpn config per server p2p
# serverp2p.conf
#
# imposta la porta di comunicazione sulla porta 1194
port 1194
# protocollo

# assegna al server l'ip 10.8.55.1 e al client 10.8.55.2
ifconfig 10.8.55.1 10.8.55.2
#assegnamo il tipo di dettaglio della log

#assegnamo tun come device per la vpn
dev tun
# file si autenticazione
secret /etc/openvpn/keys/delite.key
#crea un file di log

Not sure why its not in english

PM me your files, I will put them on my box running BH and send you screenshots to show it working.
