    I have been getting a few problems with the daily updates for the epg. Some days it works fine and other days epg updates fail. I have tried doing the updates manually through epg importer, again the epg updates fail.


    I am suspecting that the problem might be on the provider's side?


    The worse thing is when the epg fails catchup tv is then unavailable with a message about no epg.


    I use openatv with Bouquet Maker Xstream and Xstreamity.


    Few things I cannot work out with Xstreamity there is option to carry out a manual epg update, this never seem to do anything?


    With the Xstreamity setup there is an option for "Automatic EPG download time *Restart GUI Required". What is the difference with this setting compared to the EPG Importer setting?

    Manual epg update does just that if you browse to where you have xstreamity epg saved to if you run manual update you should see epg downloading if not then there is problem with provider

    yes you need to set that in xstreamity to download epg


    And as you can see from this image my various providers epg downloads from 07.30


    You should go to page 1 of this section and read instructions.

    Xstreamity usually doesn't need epg importer. Only if your provider uses satellite refs for epgs. Most dont.

    But if you getting refs in epg importer, yours might.


    How my plugin works regarding EPG. Either the timed updated or the manual update downloads the xmltv epg file from your provider.

    This gets converted into json for easy reading.

    This is stored by default in /etc/enigma2/xstreamity/epg/[playlist]
    If you see no json file in that folder for the expected date and time then the epg hasn't been downloaded or has failed.

    if you see any xml files in those epg folders, its definitely failed. They are usually large and can/should be deleted.


    Then when you open the plugin and view live, it makes temporary epg caches from this json data. So it acts like an epg importer data, but actually isn't.


    Catchup programs use a different EPG API call (which is actually called get_simple_data_table). This is nothing to do with the main epg file. If its saying missing epg data. Then exactly as you have pointed out, this is a provider issue.

    just tested on new openvix 6.8 image and seems xstreamity always takes channel/bouquet list from main box after version 5.15. Therefore my iptv UHD channels are not opening anymore. On version 5.15 all works fine.Was there a change ?

    The lists you see in this plugin are downloaded from your provider. :person shrugging:

    You will have to rewrite that as it makes no sense to me.

    found problem after exended testing and is indead not xstreamity but a change in the new image. Old version openvix uses loaded channellist but new version keeps getting list from main box. .

    Just wondering if there is a way to have series autoplay the next episode? I'm having to use the channel up/down button to play the next episode which can get quite annoying, apart from that love the plugin, makes watching VOD so much easier.

    Here is an odd one ! My friend asked me to make a image for zgemma h2s box so made the image on my box then checked everything and all working perfect so flashed his box with the image and everything works perfect except when he tries to play catchup all goes blank and kicks him out of the server but he uses same server as me ? only thing different is his hard drive storage device and uses a different broadband provider ? running latest openatv 7.6 and latest xstreamity so cant work out why catchup works at my place with the image but doesnt at his

    I`m only guessing, i dont know off the top of my head here, maybe it has something to do with how many connections your line is allowed, since you`re using the same line i`m assuming, and by line i mean playlist of course.
