I need to update my software on my vu plus solo 2 to the latest openvix i checked and the last time it was updated was 2016 is this going to be a problem when backing up i do not want loose my motor settings when i update

With an FTP tool go to /etc/enigma2 folder and backup the settings file.
Open settings file with Notepad++.
Look for entries that start with ~ config.Nims. (these are your dish motor/satellites configuration).
Flash the latest version of OpenViX image then insert config.Nims. entries back into the same file (settings). This will restore your dish motor/satellites configuration, without the need to manually do everything again.

i have gone in to enigma 2 and found setting
Open the file "setting", everything you need is in there.
