Question regarding the EPG Import plugin setting'
If the "Clearing current EPG before import" is set to no. What happens when a new EPG import takes place? Does the EPG data file get larger? If so how is the correct EPG (most recent) processed?
Just asking because I also have the CrossEPG plugin for the freesat EPG. Every time EPGImport does a new import it clears the CrossEPG data.
Hi everyone!
Unfortunately I have problems with the original epgimport, as it loses all epg sources after a simple reboot.
I had already tried this plugin by Dorik1972 1 year ago, without problems, but I would like your advice: given that the last update dates back to August 28, 2022, do you still consider this plugin valid and working?
Or do you think the original is better because it is often updated?
Thanks in advance!
I've been using the Dorik1972 plugin for a long time and never had a problem with it. It doesn't matter if the last update was from 2022. The loss of the epg can also be due to an incorrectly set time after reboot. It is desirable to have the latest update of rytec-sources.xml which is in the epgimport file in etc.
Thanks for the tip on Dorik's plugin.
Unfortunately it's not that simple, I understand what you mean but it's not about the time being set badly.
I don't lose the epg data, I literally lose the epg sources, that is, with every reboot I lose the file you were talking about previously, i.e. the rytek-sources file.
That's right: if I remove and install epgimport again the sources return and I can select them (italy basic, france TNT, poland ect..), but after restarting the GUI they disappear, i.e. the screen is empty and I can't select anything.
To solve it I necessarily have to flash, and I don't like it every time the problem arises, so for this reason I asked how Dorik's plugin worked
My answer should have been on another thread with a similar name, but I leave the file for download.
Instead of you, I answered on a similar thread as this one, so I'll repeat it.
Unfortunately, I have not encountered such a problem.I will attach the latest rytec-source, so replace it.
If it still happens again, you will have to ask the author of the plugin.
I am trying to use the latest version of dorki´s epgimporter.
But I get an error, maybe someone has a clue what's going on.

Hello, I get the error ‘no module named backports’ when I click on extensions in DB One NN2, but cannot find the module to install anywhere. Can someone please upload it or give me a link? Thank you
Edit: Found it Thank you
I "fixed" the error, if somebody runs into the same problem. Adding "nocheck=1" to the sources fixed it.
Whatever check I disabled with that.

Nothing is impossible. DVB-S, DVB-C, and DVB-T channels have “serviceref” ... Create a matching table (***channels.xml) for the XMLTV you need and the corresponding ****-source.xml file ...
example:
Video Regione 1_0_1_5A_A000_217C_EEEE0000_0_0_0
terrestrechannels.xml
how to create ??
example:
What prevents you from seeing for yourself how the files I mentioned above for sources (sources.xml) and the correspondence files for serviceref and channel_id (channels.xml) from the XMLTV you are using are made? Is it difficult? What other examples do you need if you already have them as ready files in /etc/epgimport ?
how to create ??
how to download the terrestrechannels.xml file from your post? To understand what it is ... I hope it's XMLTV for your DVB-T channels =) .... What example are you waiting for without providing the necessary and sufficient data to give you an example?
For example, attached to this post is a file for Italian SAT and DVB-T channels. To understand how and why you need to download "XMLTV file" and "channels file" from the links given in this file and see their contents... It seems to me that after that everything should be clear to you. But then again, you already have all that in /etc/epgimport ...

For many it's simple, but I wouldn't know where to put my hands, if you explain to me which folder to check, and exactly what was needed to generate DVB-T epg ?
Thank you and forgive my ignorance on the subject ![]()
but I wouldn't know where to put my hands
You have to create a new folder that you will name as custom.channels.xml or terrestre.channels.xml. Then in notepad you write your DVB-T channels and necessary parameters as in the quote and copy them into the created xml files, which you copy again and etc / epgimport. You can also copy ready-made xml files from the author (doglover 3920) to epgimport. You can also copy rytec.channels.sat ,cable or rytec.xml where are added many DVB-T channels for variuos countries.
Here is also attached updated rytec.sources.xml.
