  • Hi guys,
Just reloaded my linux box with ubuntu 12.04 LTs and reloaded oscam with smargo support back on it. All seems to go well but when it tries to open smagro I get this error...

    2012/06/13 15:14:48 95C62B8 r Smartreader device 001:005 not found

Not too brilliant on linux but it seems there is a permissions issue anyone give me a clue as to what to change to fix this. cheers guys

  • Looks like oscam is not running as root? oscam should kick in the libusb, but has to be running as root.

    [edit]

log in to server, change to sudo

    sudo -i

enter password, cd to oscam, kill it, now as your running as root, start oscam again, does it now work?

  • would this be because when I ran the install of oscam I wasn't signed into root ie. sudo -i as you can see below I ran everything when in steve@steve with sudo prefix not root@steve. If I run it all again whilst in root will this fix it?

    steve@steve-Aspire-R3600:/usr/local/bin$ killall -9 oscam
    steve@steve-Aspire-R3600:/usr/local/bin$ sudo -i
    [sudo] password for steve:
    root@steve-Aspire-R3600:~# oscam -b
    root@steve-Aspire-R3600:~# ^C
    root@steve-Aspire-R3600:~#
