I use Tailscale as part of my everyday workflow.

Tailscale (and/or Headscale) is not a vpn service as such, but is more a means of managing key-exchange for Wireguard connected devices on a software defined network.

That being said, it is very easy and straight forward to set-up, and if you have a use for that sort of things is very very good.

I guess that it rather depends upon what it is that you are trying to achieve as to whether Tailscale is what you want/need.
