    basic settings check your recording setting and timeshift settings but remember if recording and you do not have a few seconds between then it can clash with other recordings if using same satellite frequency even though you may have FBC tuners and even with with unicable lnb it does happen.

    I'm using the latest, stable Openatv which is now 7.3 but I cant seem to get KiddaC's excellent picons to work...I have some other package which comes with the image but they do not look as good.

    I have installed E2Piconizer, the download location is stuck on /media/hdd/movie/.

    I have created a picon folder in the HDD, which is empty.

    Can I then change the picon source to the local, movie folder, which has the picons in it?

    Or should I cut and paste the picons into the picon folder I created as you said to do?

    Help?!


    It seems that the default player (gstplayer?) is causing this problem. I switched to service app/Exteplayer and no problem at all. Can the default player be updated?

    why would openatv change default player that also requires the installation of service app. But that is not a question for this thread but you could ask on openatv. Also this is a personal preference.

    I guess you didn't understand the question. I don't know what the default player in opentiv 7.4 is. Can you tell me what the default player is? Anyway it is the default player that's causing this, as I mentioned. I found this out by installing service app and using the service app exteplayer.

    So now I would like to know how to maybe update the default player in openatv 7.4.

    default player is GStreamer if you press menu > information > About openATV and scroll down you will see GStreamer version .

    GStreamer (5001) Exteplayer (5002)

    you could try


    opkg update

    opkg remove gstplayer

    opkg install gstplayer


    or


    opkg update

    opkg remove enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-serviceapp exteplayer3 ffmpeg

    opkg install ffmpeg exteplayer3 enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-serviceapp

    opkg remove gstplayer

    opkg install gstplayer


    or do software update

    Complete newbie on bmx and now on open7.4 after updating from 6.4 today. Used jedi previously. Zgem h9s, using only iptv. No dish now having moved. Thing is I want to say Kiddac is just brilliant, enjoyed jedi etc. I cant get bmx to work....followed his excellent guide almost to letter...but under autobouquetmakers there is nothing under "providers". I literally joined this group just to see what the jpg was under that section! Knew there had to be something...mine is blank. Nothing to choose. Please help. I have epg importer set up to save epg on usb, i have rytec with iptv under bmx ticked....please i kow it prob something silly. By the way xtemity works ok and seems to have its own epg which has loaded. I want to use bmx because it looks like it could be very good. Sorry long winded....really appreciate if somoen can sort this.

    Welcome to the forum, your posts need approval until you make an introduction post, the link for doing so is in my signature below.


    You don't need AutoBouquetsMaker if you don't have any dish or aerial connected - that plugin is only for sat or aerial, that is why you don't have any providers.

    Follow the guide for BMX or xtreamity or both.

    Set your tuners to "nothing connected"

    I thought it may be something simple like that...but bmx is still not filling epg..i have restarted and rebooted...is there somehting else?

    so maybe for others if they are only using iptv then they should ignore that bit of guide. ? I guess.


    Still 0 events downloaded...? even after a reboot and made those changes.

    Welcome you said you have epgimporter set to save to usb , that is in normal epg settings not in epgimporter. But I think I know what you mean .


    once you have made your bouquets in BMX then you need to go to epgimporter just as you would have done in jedimaker and press blue buton to go to sources and then select your iptv provider, save, then yellow button to run manual scan and as you will know you can set up epgimporter to import automatically at a set time .


    Also were bouquets made because when you add your playlist in BMX you need to then press green button on your playlist then you will be given options as to what you want most just select live and use xtreamity or xklass for vod and series.


    But once you have made you choices them press green button to continue then you can select what bouquets and what channels you want then

    create bouquet.

    Some times better to reboot gui once they are made the go to epgimporter.


    Edit also in epgimporter

    select load EPG only for services in bouquets to NO

    and

    Load EPG only for IPTV channels to NO.

    Yes delete autobouquetsmaker, as you wont require it, it will be under plugins-remove plugins-system plugins-name of plugin to remove

    (or similar, that is from memory) when deleted, reboot sat box.


    EPG data works with epg-importer plugin, and your IPTV provider.

    Make sure you have your epg provider enabled in the epg-import section - Sources (and saved with green button ).

    It may have complicated it by me using auto thingy....but even so it is still not working as it should.

    It may be that I have to delete bmx and start over....to as urie suggests saving changes and choices and then saving and then re-downloading.

    What is real problem is it no epg or no bouquets , because if autobouquetsmaker is run it will delete , jedimaker or BMX I know you mentioned you have no satellite now but if you did have abm needs to run first then BMX and then epgimporter ,


    On top of that sometimes iptv provider epg can go down.

    I was going to give up for the night...then gave it 1 last go....and bingo....events downloaded. Hundreds of thousands of them. Not sure what may have been the secret....because did a few changes and then a few reboots....possibly those settings in epg importer? or saving each step and rebooting etc.

    Thing is now...text is very small and on a blue background....so doesnt show up and not easy to read at all, whereas Jedi programme info was on right and larger and seemingly more readable and accessible. Presumably these things can be changed is "settings"....Yes?

    It was no epg downlloading.....bouquets were made no problem...actually that was another thing I changed......I deleted quite a few bouquets....as not wanted....before saving.....and that may have helped it work...less to do? Just to add I deleted abm....as jensen suggested. The there could be no conflict. Never know this may help some other poor sod....struggling for hours on same thing!! Lol.

    Hello again, just to say I thought it was sorted completely...today having changed skin from skyq to metrix...I thought I'd try reverting and looking to change layout and text size etc. This crashed my box. Error came up "autotimer" fawlty missing or similar.

    Could this have contributed to my problems? I'm now back on metrix and all seems to be working so am relucatnat to mess annymore. Just curious....what do yo experts think? When an error like that comes up...is is good to delte and then re-install it? Does anyone know of issues with autotimer? Is it important? worth keeping? Thanks.

    I am not a fan of metrix skin. Personally I don't recommend you use it. If you do, make sure you change it to the HD version its SD version be default. (bleugh)

    What Skyq skin where you using. Mine (Slyk Q) or chab's skin from TK forum.


    There should be no issues with my skins regarding font sizes.

    Autotimer plugin is standard on openatv. It is more than likely an autotimer variable reference in the plugin code instead. This is a totally different thing.
    I.e In my code I have things named autotimer, that automatically update the epg files.

    Don't delete autotimer plugin. You don't need to.

    There may actually be an issue in my plugin around my autotimer. I have seen people mention that bug before.
    It might throw a hissy fit until the automatic time is set first time. Once it is set once there will be a reference in your enigma2 settings file. So wont crash again.

    So in theory, you can probably faff around again and everything will work fine.
