you do not have mobile phone or firestick ? how are you bringing in your iptv bouquets if jedimaker xtream or bouquets maker xtream then you need to select yout iptv provider in epgimporter sources section.

I have a phone, but I don't know how it works. I enter the Iptv bouquet via telnet (DCC). I thought that some iptv channel should be selected, in the bouquet, I would start the epg importer, and the epg would be downloaded for that channel. But it obviously doesn't work that way.

no you need your subscription details for the other plugins mentioned if using old Suls script method it should add you provider into epgimporter

epg cannot for iptv cannot be downloaded unless epg_id entry is there for channel

have a look in epgimport folder and see if xml files is there for your provider.

example : id="bbc2.uk" is an epg_id

If I understood correctly, I should do this for all IPTV channels for which I need an EPG?

I was just showing example of epg_id entries that are needed any decent iptv provider should have them in the playlist , but you say you have no epg at all but hard to help with the information given i,e,

I managed to get the channels into epgexport.channels.xml, and epgexport.xml. But the epg is not showing. Do we need something else, so that the EPG can be downloaded?

I am lost epgexport is for exporting you epg, you no not have epg showing you need the entries in epgimporter.

The best is to use BMX bouquet maker xtream from Kiddac, in the configuration you can add your line from your provider in etc/enigma2/bmx/playlist.text file , save ans restart, after you managed this you open epg import en choose BMX source >save first than you select manual search>>save.
