How were you trying to install it?
Its only a binary, so you need to manually overwrite the existing oscam file using an FTP tool. Give the correct 755 permissions and rename the oscam to the same as the existing version so the softcam manager can start it.
Are you installing an ipk uploaded on a forum/website or from the image's plugin server. Which image are you using? Name and version/date of image please. Also which receiver?
opkg update
opkg list | grep -i libusb
opkg install libusb-1.0-0

I do download Oscam here:
Unzipped the file an with DCC send to user/bin
The attributes 755
Renamed the file to oscam
But I don't any this in the box.
doesn't appear the OSCam-11724-798 (armv7ve OpenSSL-1.0.2 libusb)
Only see the version that already had in the box
What appers is this:
Try starting oscam in telnet with /usr/bin/oscam -b
If the image is missing something it will throw out an error.
only change the binary , the name is the same with the old version , not oscam
oscam_11725-r7
copy the new one with dcc , in the name from the old one
stop the oscam before copy
Try starting oscam in telnet with /usr/bin/oscam -b
If the image is missing something it will throw out an error.
It still doesn't appear:
https://files.fm/u/7cqa7rqq38
you can not change the name
same name from old one
oscam_11718-r798
rename the oscam-b in this
It still doesn't appear:
Why did you name the oscam binary oscam -b
I said use the command in Telnet.
I just read your last post on the other thread and seen you are using OpenViX.
In that case the oscam binary should be in /usr/softcams not /usr/bin

Now Oscam OSCam-11724-798 (armv7ve OpenSSL-1.0.2 libusb) appears and work, but de option streamrelay no:
I give up!
Heve no patience.
I see this on multistalker pro
Thank you for the help.
To use Vix's Softcam Manager, it looks for softcams in the softcam directory.
People were having lockups using softcam manager and oscam, especially on mips receivers. Obviously people who flash/reboot their box every day and have the latest receivers don't get the problem and say they have been using oscam for years without problems.
If you are using the script control method, oscam does not have to be in the softcam folder. The script must point to where the binary is located. I would urge any third party builders to use the same locations as ATV/PLI.
Don't mix/match processes. Either install the ipk as per the instructions of the person making it. If you are going to replace the binary, do it to match the control method you want to use.
