I'm new to these boxes, so please excuse me if I am asking about something obvious.
I use my new Zgemma H7S with OpenVIX software to watch Freesat in the UK. When I look at the bouquet I see several categories and the first is Freesat UK HD. This is all I am interested in. I never want to see SD broadcasts. I'm half-way there when I go to FAV and select that bouquet - I can channel hop and only see HD channels. However, if I select a channel by its number, eg 101 (BBC1 HD), and then move up the channels, I am back out of Freesat UK HD and see all the SD Freesat channels as I hop. The box seems to default to the Freesat Entertainment category. It does that OK, if that's what I wanted it would be perfect, lol, - but I want it to default to Freesat UK HD.
My question is this: How can I make sure my Zgemma H7S always stays in the Freesat UK HD bouquet and never strays? I'd even be happy if I could delete the unwanted SD channels, but I don't know how. I tried reconfiguring ABM to not make the categories for Freesat - but after a scan there were no channels at all.
Thank you.
Zgemma H7S - how default to HD?

Change options to match these
Fta only = no
Main bouquet = yes only had
Sections= no
Fta bouquets= no
Fta hd = no

Under Setup/Tuners & Scanning/AutoBouquetsMaker/Providers/FreeSat UK I set up these options;
Region = BBC E Midlands/ITV Central E
FTA Only = no
Create main bouquet = yes (only HD)
Create sections bouquets = no
Create FTA bouquet = no
Create FTA HD bouquet = no
I did a scan and it finds no channels at all and the EPG is empty. The only way it finds channels is if I set 'Create sections bouquets = yes". I have no interest in the sections bouquets!

Which version of ViX are you on?
-
6.6.005 (Release)
I solved the problem. As is often the case it was user error . I missed a final step of running an EPG update. Once I'd done that, the EPG was populated with just the HD channels.
To force the update I had to go into the EPG update settings and set a time for a couple of minutes ahead and it ran. Is there any way of simply forcing an EPG update without having to change the auto update settings?
Thanks for your abu baniaz

Are you talking about bouquets or EPG?
If EPG, how are you obtaining EPG?
-
There are two areas where the EPG is updated. One in the ABM Provider ssection, the other in OpenTV EPG download. I've set one of them to 1am, the other to 2am. I assume that is how it's done . . .

You are mixing up terms. Bouquets= Groups of channels. EPG = Synopsis. ABM just does bouquets, it does nothing with EPG.
Best you set ABM after 0600. Once a week on Thursday is fine for most people.
If you want to manually optain the OpenTV EPG, there is an option in the blue button/extensions menu. Blue > Force OpenTV EPG download.

Ahh. I understand. I'll make the adjustments now. Thank you.

Maybe have a good read of my openatv setup guide if you are new to these boxes.
Although its titled openatv, it can be used as a reference for other similar images like openvix.Just ignore the flashing, and softcams sections.
