VU+ Uno 4k SE gets stuck with high temperature

    my VU+ Uno 4k SE ,running OpenATV 7.3, during normal playing , this summer with high room temperature has got stuck showing the tab "exit,reboot..." and no key can remove it if not doing a brutal switch off. after cooling down gets normal .....but as it gets hot the issue is back.

    so it's surely a hardware issue but what component should be checked ?

    find same problem to other users in some other forums but no useful answer.

    can anyone help me ?

    I have same box and I make sure its well ventilated and I have it raised up on 2 bits of plastic ducting. I keep a lookout on temp and its usually 62c.


    Can you keep an eye on the temp via setup information about. I have it on multiboot and using OPENBH 5.3.001 just now. And its warm to touch. I have an ssd in stalled. Use oscam a lot and a bit of iptv but never overheated.


    If you keep a check you might see when it gets hot but ventilate well.

    can you specify where was the oxidation and what was fixed ?

    the print on my motherboard dates back to 2017 ( I bought it used)

    issue comes when temperature raises over 70°C ,so some component is going to dye for age problem ?

    I have removed HDD too

    and heard of problems related to capacitors age (but they are SMD....so big problem)

    from another forum (don't know if can mention) it's been said that is issue of front panel something related to blue eye switch and IR receiver and they suggest to put distance gap with only a piece of cardboard between pcb and front panel frame......but result is loosing blue eye switch function

    imo I think is a component issue ,because the looping happens after some time of usage and after switching off and waiting time to cool it down it disappears

    I should change title to thread because now it's happening independently from house temperature ,and now that have dismounted the pcb from front panel it's OK ,but if i try to remount it , the exit/reboot menu panel gets back to pop up.I'm sure is a problem related to touch sensor and some component that control it. It acts like someone is touching it long to pop up the exit/... menu. and then is hard to exit from it with remote ,keying exit or red key,sometime you are forced to switch off from rear.

    so it's needed a hardware expert among you.
