  • Hi All

I recently purchased a VU+ Zero 4K. I have few questions; can anyone help me please.

    1. How can i know that this is a genuine product or clone

    2. I tried flashing a openpli 8 image. VU+ Zero 4k : OpenPLi 8.xStar 20240930 GSt 1.20.5

downloaded the image, extracted with win11(rightclick-extract all) to quick format 8GB Fat32 USB

switched off the VU, plugged in the USB, switched on.

nothing happens the default common interface loaded.

How can I flash this. Any idea is welcome.

    Thank you

  • Important: Please unpack the archive on the USB stick, then the directories will be created correctly.

Download the desired image on the PC (Zero 4K) and save it (USB version)

Format the USB stick with the FAT or FAT32 file system

Unpack the file on the USB stick (e.g. with WinRAR, WinZIP, 7ZIP, etc.)

The directories /vuplus/zero4k will then be created on the stick

There are now 5 files in the /vuplus/zero4k directory on the stick!

Turn off the Vu+ STB (into deep standby or power switch)

remove all USB devices from the box

remove all CI modules and pay-TV cards from the box

    plug in the USB stick

    turn on the Vu+ STB

the white VU+ logo pulsates during the flashing process

wait until the white VU+ logo flashes on the front panel

    turn off the Vu+ STB

    remove the USB stick

    turn on the STB

the VTi start wizard should start, if not something has gone wrong

when the VTi start wizard has finished and the network has been set up, it is essential that an online update is carried out first via the VTi panel - News or the Blue - Green - Green buttons on the remote control.

  • Among the boxes that I have and that I still use there is also a VuZero4k for which:
Follow to the letter what Hannibal_Lecter wrote to you in point #2
However, leave the VTI image alone but download the Obh 5.4.1.10 image from openbh.net that you find in the download section.
I don't know if your box has a DVB-S2 or DVB-T2 tuner, in the first case you could then make it a combo by purchasing a VuTurbo Tuner, I did it and it works very well, the only drawback is that it uses the only USB port that the decoder has.
Always in the first case if you want to have some more USB ports buy a 4-port powered USB switch so you have 3 available ports.
