Kodi don't works fine on octagon sf8008 ( onlu define is ok )

    Good morning to the whole forum,

    I'm asking for your help once again, and I really appreciate your availability.

    I have tried both Kodi 20 and Kodi 21 on all OpenATV 7.3 and OpenATV 7.4 images, as well as Black Hole, but they all give me the same problem:
    Kodi works perfectly until I put the Octagon SF8008 on standby. :face screaming in fear:  
    Then, when I turn the decoder back on after standby, Kodi's main screen appears, but the audio from the TV channel the decoder was on, is still playing. Shortly after, Kodi freezes and crashes, causing the decoder to crash as well. The only way to fix it is to power-cycle the decoder.

    Kodi 20 works fine only on Define, but it's a complicated image that I don't like.

    Can anyone recommend an image where Kodi works well (other than Define) or, better for me, explain how to fix this issue on OpenATV?

    Hi, personally I stopped using kodi with enigma 2 images, too many problems.... I only use it with define, I change images when I need to and that's it.....Afterwards everyone does what they want....

    Thank you very much for the advice! I'm sorry because it's a really nice and very useful plugin with lots of interesting addons. It's really a shame not to be able to implement it properly on Enigma2 images. If only the issue with waking up from standby could be fixed, it would be perfect!

    This is for Enigma 2 Kodi 21 running on Dreambox two via SD card. I don't know about your receiver since yours is an Octagon SF8008 and I don't believe it can since they are different receivers.

    I installed the image openspa-8.4.002-sf8008-20241029_recovery_emmc, and it works perfectly, even with Kodi 21.0 Omega.

    However, I can't install Oscam because I can't find the Software Manager plugin. :exploding head:

    Can you tell me how to do it?

    Also Kodi works great on OpenBH image. Openpli is the worst for it. So OpenSpa as you said or Openbh..


    For oscam, try like I install on every image via telnet Mohamed Oscam -- type this

    Have been testing kodi also on different images on my sf8008 some time ago.

    OpenSpa was working fine and Hyperion was also working.


    But i went back to my android box with kodi. As the video quality just seemed off.

    Hi, friends, how are you?

    I have an octagon sf8008 supreme, running enigma2 image, but the problem is after I installed Kodi, it only opened on the first attempt,

    After 20/30 minutes, it stopped again and doesn´t load to kodi interface or in another word it stops to open the Kodi app.

    I don´t know what I´m doing wrong here with this plugin?

    If I may I wanted to ask if anyone has the same problem as me and that is with Octagon SF8008 and with Define OS V1.06.57 Kodi does not open, I explain better, I go to the menu and the Kodi image appears, I click on it and for a second the black screen appears and then it takes me back to the menu screen where there is the Kodi image with the other apps that open and work normally (define OS version V1.06.579

    With recovery menu I uninstalled and then reinstalled Define OS V1.06.57 and kodi now works, but in the menu kodi 20.2.0 Nexus is installed and when I go to install IPTV Simple Client it does not recognize it to make the repository.wltv-1.0.2 work. From what I see on the screen however the IPTV Simple Client addon is 20.3.0 by nightik and Ross Nicholson and not the original 20.2.0 Nexus. Is there any advice on how to recover and install the original addon or how to update the version of kodi ??? Thanks
