Besides on first play the channel doesnt take the correct link (via createlink or not call that at all) so when it is opened it gives 403 or not enough data.

Ok, so out of interest I have just installed latest openvix to my vu zero 4k
Fresh install of estalker and nothing else.
I am still not see any loading vix symbol and it takes less than 2 seconds to open from live stream list to live player
Exited player. Tried a few more channels. Pretty much instant.

So I can only assume its a particular line you are using or your setup.
Or maybe try deleting your json file. And starting from scratch.
Or maybe just try adding 1 lines to the playlists.txt file.

But quite simply I am not seeing any major slowness.

Well I know for a fact users will add about 100 lines. the majority of them will be dead. So I think the blue auto delete button is actually a good idea.
We are beta - the final version will be stable - And there should never be a need to reset the playlist data

How are people finding the adult setting. Is it slowing down the loading of your live channels a lot. Or is the few seconds delay acceptable for your mucky needs.

And on a side note - I haven't used openvix for quite some time. I am impressed how fast and smooth it is compared to the cumbersome openatv.
But then again that might just be my vu zero 4k. I haven't used that box for a while. It was gathering dust.

Removed show/hide option on VOD streams. I cant do that any more. I have kept it on category level though.

Amended the VOD trailers - now completely excludes python 2 images, but will work on python 3. So shouldn't crash.

Originally I only allowed the playing of webm trailers as they were smaller and got converted quicker. More and more trailers are now mp4. So it now checks for the webm version, if it can't find one of those it will try one of the mp4 streams. Slower but more trailers will now play rather than getting the message "no trailer". (although there is a trailer.)
Trailers are shown by a filled in play icon when selected. Long press OK to play trailer. Does not work on python 2 images.

Added in TMDB option if installed on VTI

Might have fixed error while zapping in VTI

Added back in search for VOD - Although this search all categories. Not just the one you are in

Changed the play link back on Live. I changed it to see who complained.

Ok I just put vti 15.0.2 on my box.

Absolutely nothing wrong with TMDB posters for VOD. All working perfect as expected. Even tried multiple languages and no issues.
Maybe the line your testing has weird named films.

But the iconfont to show the rating dial had the wrong name - so that could have been causing issues.

I have also just written in a function - if non english tmdb used - and no non english overview available - then fallback to the english.

I am actually rather happy with the way this all still works on python 2.7 and I cant find an errors in VTI which makes a change.

ok your approach is probably better. But I changed your regex.

Only a small update today.

Removed the orphaned epgcache code in liveplayer. DimitarCC thinks it was slowing the code down. I am not to sure. It was no longer used anyway.
Fixed the VOD rating dial font
Added in English fallback for VOD descriptions.
Amended the year stripping from titles for better TMDB lookups.

Thanks for everyones contributions. We are getting there.

I did notice on VTI, that valid streams didn't always play when zapping. Pressing 0 reloads the stream and works most of the time.

OK I think tomorrow I am going to clean up all the code and make it an official release. I am happy with the code now. And series might take me a week.
Then you can share it if you want.
