  • Hi guys,

I bought a GiGaBlue QUAD 4K PRO because I wanted to enjoy HD channels but quality is not good at all, it more SD quality than HD.

I didnt have this issue with my Dreambox 500 HD.

Its something with Enigma2 Images or what??

I have tested the OpenATV image, OpenPli and OpenVix with same result.

    I have a LG 77'' OLED evo C3 - 4K TV with 2.1 HDMI.

  • As you wrote, your TV has a 2.1 HDMI input, does your new receiver have 2.1 HDMI or is it 2.0? Try changing to a different cable if you have one. I don't know if you have Hot Bird satellite, if you do, watch the Hotbird 4k1 channel and see what kind of picture you get. It's a free channel and has a resolution of 3840x2160p50.

I have a cerfitied 2.1 HDMI cable and should support even 2.0 . I have tested with 3 different cables and same result.

If I watch 4K channels then is shows like FullHD quality.

  • Sure i have seen this issue possibly on here or another forum, have you not also just send back a dreambox one as it had the same issue?

Yes I hade the same issue with Dreambox One, why I sent it back and bought GiGaBlue QUAD 4K PRO.

I don't know, but it's strange that you're having a problem with that new receiver too. I think something else is the problem. Have you tried putting the HDMI cable in the TV to the other HDMI 2 output? Also look at the installation on your TV to adjust the picture properly, and see if there's a way to adjust the picture properly on your new receiver.

I've just looked at the spec of the quad 4k pro and it has two hdmi 2.0 ports but the 500hd i could not find what type of hdmi port it had. Its likely to have a very early type. The 500hd could only output to 1080i.

Yes its very strange and thats why I wanted to buy another box so I can test it but no luck yet. I have tested all 4 HDMI outputs without luck. I will try to adjust the filter on TV.

Yes 500HD hade only 1080i and never was a problem, HD was HD but now HD looks more like SD.
