FBC unicable on motorized dish issues on OE images

  • Hello,

I have a dreambox 920 UHD with a FBC tuner, lnb cable and disceq motor. DreamOs images manage this composition very well, because we see on it one tuner with all unicable frequencies.

In OE image we have for it tuners from A to H. Openvix gives more parameters than openAtv because we can select to wich physical tuner a virtual tuner is connected.

Howerver, both manage this composition bad. Let give a exemple :

Tuner A : astra and hotbird, SCR 1, disceq 1.2

    Tuner B : nothing (physical)

Tuner C : connected to tuner A. Astra and hotbird SCR 2, disceq : none.

I can see two channels in astra without any problem.

Then go to hotbird, it select tuner A and motor goes to hotbird and I see my selected channel. Now if I zap to an astra channel it select tuner C so there is no disceq order sent to move the dish back to astra.

Anyway or suggestions to fix this issue ?

  • Unicable LNBs/switches are designed for fixed orbital positions being sent to multiple tuners/devices. It is not designed for motorised dishes. If anyone thinks it is, please post a manufacturer's documentation showing this.

Sorry to disagree, unicable+fbc+diseqc works perfectly in dreamOS images. DreamOS manage better fbc tuners comparing to OE images. In tuner configuration there is only physical tuners and if you have an unicable lnb you can put all available SCR in the same physical tuner. See attachment.IMG_3962.jpeg

  • One other big issue in OE images, is when you record a channel.

If you record a channel on astra for example dreamOS, allow you to zap only in ASTRA but you cannot zap to hotbird even if it using SCR2. In openatv or openvix if you are recording on tuner C it allow you zap to hotbird and then you will loss your record !

So if one receiver sends the dish and LNB to 19.2 and other sends it to 13e, what does the motor do and how would you wire it? Or if you are recording on 13e and another timer kicks in on 19.2e, what does the receiver do?

Until you or anyone can provide data from the LNB manufacturer that you can motorise a unicable LNB, it will not be coded.

    Good luck in your quest.

  • It depend if you configure the diseqc motor in both ! And you will face the same problem even if you have an universal lnb.

For you information, I use my setup in only one receiver within FBC tuner !

I don't understund wich data you want. Because for me disceq and unicable are two topics totally independant !
