used zgemma h2s for at least 4 years

    Hi. I have used my zgemma h2s for the first time in at least 4 years. When I moved into this house, the previous owner had sky q, so I have recently purchased myself a sky quad universal lnb for sky digital. My tv has built in freesat but freesat doesnt have all channels which are free on a sky box. So, hence why I wanted my h2s up and running, plus I can record 2 channels on my zgemma h2s. my software is out of date obviously.


    what options do I have? is wooshbuild still being updated and works with the latest version of openatv? I've seen messages which seem to suggest its not been updated and willowbuild is the way to go? Is willowbuild just openvix or can it be used on openatv too? I have never used willowbuild.


    Also, have auto boquets been updated and e2iplayer/e2istream or whatever it is called these days being updated. Plus are there are other new plugins I need to consider which have come onto the scene over the last 4 years.

    Approved the thread.

    The builds you are mentioning are/were related to techkings forum not linuxsat forum.

    Wooshbuild is fully dead. Willowbuild is a popular build and has everything setup for you with all the relevant modern plugins, but as you say he prefers openvix.
    Visit TK if you want Willowbuild. (although WIllow does pop into this forum now and again)

    If you want openatv build on it, its really easy to setup everything yourself. All a pre made build is, is someone else has done all the setup for you. Which doesn't mean its the setup you want.

    I have a guide here, that has been followed by many non technical people and they successfully set up their boxes how they like.
    And if you are stuck on something. Just ask. Thats what satellite forums are for,

    I even follow my own guide when I reflash my box :winking face with tongue:

    Hi Thanks for the replies. Sorry I knew there was another forum but couldnt for the life of me remember. So, I will build my own image using the latest version of openatv as that is what I am used to as never used openvix. is there a working auto boquets maker still these days?

    I am updating 2 of these at the moment and I am using openatv 7 .6 once installed if you press and hold the power button and you will get the option to create multi boot if you select it just follow instructions once done you can create as many slots as you like so can try other images. AND IT CREATES A SWAP FILE.

    ABM e2iplayer is there but don’t know if it’s any good. Croosepg has to be added. Open is good enough for me other mentioned was openspa. Box is 9 years old it was for iPab iptv and very good it was, ahead of its time.

    hi Kiddac slowly sorting out my setup in my own time. managed to dowload openatv 7.6 and put your skins on there. installed cacheflush and your movieorganiser plugin but getting an error. its asus 1 plugin not available. extensions/movie organiser. list index out of range. any ideas?

    Just signed up for this forum.

    Had one of these boxes since 2016 that died of a water leak earlier this year (heavy snow had shifted some roof tiles 🙄).

    Got a replacement en route right now. So I'm looking for a guide to get it set up, I've got a usb drive with a 10 year old copy of open atv on it somewhere... 🤣🤣


    Think I'll be using the guide posted by KiddaC to get me up and running. 👍🏼
