It will be ALPHA and not for everyone because half of the users don't know how to deal with enigma2 on their own and will cry that something doesn't work.

OpenATV version 8.0 is expected to be released in the fall (September/October) after the alpha, beta, and release candidate phases.

I think I will keep openAtv.7.6 in the future, I don't see any reason to switch to the new version of opentv 8.0

There is no feed for 8.0, and not much is going to happen there in the next six months either. Builds have already started, but a lot still needs to be optimized and reworked, and E2 features for 8.0 have not even been implemented yet.

Yes, please. Anyone who is able to build an image is encouraged to help by identifying build errors and other problems. My earlier information was mainly meant for regular users. Since this is a Python 3.14 image, not all closed-source IPKs are working yet, and those still need to be provided by their developers. I’ll also soon start making builds available for users who want to help test plugins and report issues. Maybe some users would like to help — that would be great.
